Schoolhouse.world HOSA

30th session

Welcome to Schoolhouse.world's Winter 2025 HOSA Events and Competition. HOSA stands for Health Occupations for Students of America, but in our case it will be for students of the world. This series ending in a competition will be great for all you hopeful doctors, nurses, dentists, psychologists, medical scientists, etc. The series will run from December-February with the competition concluding the events at the beginning of March. During this time you will choose from a selection of events and choose the one(s) you want to compete in. You will have 3 months to self-study. During those three months there will be other sessions hosted on various topics within health professions including health advocacy, a leadership conference, health professions spotlights, medical law, medical labs and much more! This event is open to everyone in the schoolhouse. Even if you don’t want to be a health professional or are not sure there are events for you including medical math, medical reading, biomedical debate, etc. Also at the end, you will get a certificate of participation if you complete all requirements.

Biology Help Sessions

25th session

I provide help for biology from the regular to the AP level. By signing up to this series, you will be able to schedule a 30min help session with me every week. If the number of learners requesting help per week reaches 5, I will shorten each individual session to 20min because of the increase in the total amount of time dedicated. Learners should propose a preferred meeting time at least 24hours before that time. Times that work for me are late afternoons and nights in EST time zone. Further negotiation might be needed if the learner's preferred time has a conflict with my schedule. I will try my best to stay near the preferred time. The scheduling of time follows the first-come-first-serve basis.

Exploring Our Microbiological World

9th session

Hi there! This series is going to be all about one of my favorite topics (and current major), microbiology! Each session, we'll be doing a deep dive into a new microorganism and it's biology: what kind of microorganism it is, where it exists, its role in its habitat, and even how it interacts with us. These are just meant to be fun, exploratory sessions, not a series on general microbiology, so no past knowledge is really needed. I can answer any general biology questions if they come up (in context with the microorganism, of course), but the main focus will be on whatever microscopic creature we're exploring during a given session! If you like microbiology, learning about new species, or just learning about the things we don't get to see much in our everyday lives, then this series is for you! Hope to see you there! (Note also that this is a re-run of a series I did over the summer, so if this looks familiar to you, you may have seen it before.)

Campbell Biology Course: Useful for AP Bio, IB Bio, and Olympiads

30th session

The IBO Chairman hailed Campbell's biology as the "Bible" of biology. It is a fascinating book. If you love Biology, I am sure that you will enjoy it! Campbell Biology consists of 8 UNITS and 56 Chapters. I will try to go over 1-2 chapters per week based on the potential of the class. If I see that the class needs more time to Understand the topics, I will lower the speed making it 1 chapter per 2 weeks. Some chapters will be skipped and I will ask the students to study them independently. Hope to see you! Kind Regards, Mohammadamin Y + Jack R Please let us know in the group chat if you don’t understand something or missed a session, we would be happy to schedule extra sessions for you!
