About

What should doctors do when a patient refuses life-saving treatment? Should gene editing be used to engineer “better” offspring? Who gets access to the last hospital bed in a pandemic?

In this course, we will explore the world of bioethics, where science, medicine, public health, and moral decision-making collide. We will first go over the basics of bioethics and then dive into real-world case studies, including topics like end-of-life care, organ transplantation, surrogate decision makers, genetic testing, and more!

The only thing you’ll need is an open mind ready for thinking, discussion, and analysis. I look forward to hearing your perspectives and opinions as we delve deeper into the field of bioethics!

Hello! I'm Ada, and I am a high schooler from the US. I'm mainly here to help tutor the math section of the SAT! I scored a 790 on the Math SAT and a 36 on the Math ACT. Some of my STEM classes I completed were AP Calculus BC, AP Bio, AP Physics C, and AP Chem. In my free time, I play violin, listen to music, and play with my cat! Through Schoolhouse, I hope I can learn, help others learn, and meet new people!
