About

Each week we will analyze one small subject area in Pre-Algebra. It could be as small as basic arithmetic, and analyzing minor details or researching bigger topics in multi-week long studies.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You will be withdrawn from the series if you have more than 2 unexcused absences in a row. Please message the tutor in advance for any absences!

About the Tutors

Hello everyone! My name is Aarav T. I discovered SchoolHouse while exploring the wonderful world of online learning and have gotten obsessed. I am currently working on several passion projects including co-founding an academic-competition subworld and have already aided in the establishment of a slack channel. I am currently learning Pre-calculus and am very competitive! If you are ever interested in math competition prep, or any general math contact me! (+DM me if you want to play some chess!). I am tutor in Reading & Writing, Enrichment, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, History, Statistics, and Computer Science.

Session 1

Community Events

We will continue to analyze graphs and view basic graphs in a 3D space. This will include analyzing 3D shapes and basic operations utilizing 3D shapes.

For Advanced Learners:

Using 3D shapes to analyze statistical patterns and determining how this correlates to real life applications.

Session 2

Catchup

Today we will reflect on the past two sessions and determine important take-aways. This includes practice problems and analysis of the real-world application.

For Advanced Learners:

Based off the foundations build in the last session, learners will be asked to present a graph they created in Desmos Graphing Calculator given the time in class. They will be asked on the applications of this graph and how it relates to real world situations.

Jun

Session 3

Community Events

We will begin discussing linear equations and discuss how we can use linear equations to simplify complicated situations.

For Advanced Learners:

We will analyze, not how to solve, but how to create accurate 2+ equation systems. This will expand slightly beyond polynomials of degree 2.

Jun

Session 4

Community Events

We will continue to determine the appropiate use of equations. We will analyze which situations involve certain degree polynomials.

For Advanced Learners:

We will analyze the usage of forming these equations to solve competition math problems or more complicated situations.

Session 5

Functions and linear models

We will continue to analyze graphs and view basic graphs in a 3D space. This will include analyzing 3D shapes and basic operations utilizing 3D shapes.

For Advanced Learners:

Functions and linear models

Today we will reflect on the past few sessions and determine important take-aways. This includes practice problems and analysis of the real-world application.

For Advanced Learners:

Based off the foundations build in the last session, learners will be asked to present a graph they created in Desmos Graphing Calculator given the time in class. They will be asked on the applications of this graph and how it relates to real world situations.
