Intro to AP Biology: the Components of the Cell

Get ahead on AP Biology this summer with someone who scored a 4 on the AP exam and can help you get through it too! Each session, I will be covering the different organelles in eukaryotic cells while differentiating between the organelles of animal vs plant cells. I will also be diving into the plasma membrane. No previous knowledge needed, although having knowledge on the macromolecules would be helpful. Please have a paper and pencil ready to draw a cell! This approach serves as an excellent refresher for those who haven't recently taken a biology course or wish to strengthen their understanding of key concepts. Especially if you haven't taken either Biology or Chemistry!
We will go over: Organic Compounds (monomers and polymers), Cell Transport, Protein Synthesis, Basic Cell Division, Basic Genetics, and Natural Selection to give you a sturdy foundation for AP Bio next year!

The primary textbook we are using will be Campbell Biology. This series is created for students with no prior knowledge of biology but who are planning to take either Honor or AP Biology in the near future. The weekly 1 hour sessions are divided into two 30-minute sessions with 15-minute break in between. Please take time to read the material before coming into the session. The speed of the series can be adjusted according to how we fare.
