I really appreciate your clear, straightforward explanations of what is expected of us tutors, as well as your many examples of what we should and should not do which made everything even easier to understand. Additionally, I really enjoyed how you made things interactive, such as when you called on us to tell you what we would do in a specific situation, or when you had us act out a mini tutoring session! I took a lot of great notes from your presentation, and I now feel less scared and more prepared to tackle being a tutor! Thank you again for such an awesome onboarding session!

This session went over the very fascinating topic of Chinese Poetry, where we reviewed one of the works of the famous Chinese poet, Lǐ Bái. Ariel was pretty amazing herself and definitely knew how to keep the class fun and exciting. At the end we wrote a poem together, and thanks to her help, we finished with a pretty neat literary work. Please keep in mind that I'm a beginner, so all credit goes to her for this "masterpiece" (I Hope 🙏). Highly recommend her sessions to every aspiring poet, or really just anyone who wants to learn!

Ariel is amazing! She's not only fluent in Mandarin but deeply understands the language's intricacies. The format of her teaching encourages students to learn and retain lots of information. I knew virtually nothing about Chinese characters before her session. Now, I have learned to recognize and notice patterns among characters!

Thank you as always for the session, I love the structure of the classes and how you write down key words so we can also improve our literacy. I think I've said this before but I really appreciate this series as a way for me to practice my Mandarin more often.
