Community Events

Welcome to this Community Event session, my name is Kien, and in this session, we are going to celebrate Vietnam's Independence Day. We will learn about the history of Independence Day, get to know some interesting facts. We will also dissect the Declaration of Independence and compare it to other Declaration of Independence around the world, the similarity or differences. If that is not enough to interest you, then you might want to stay until the end because we are going to have some fun games, a discussion and a movie at the end. Stay tuned and we really hope to see you in the session. Co-hosted by: Thanh L and Duc P

Polynomial arithmetic

In this session, I will go through everything you need to know about adding, subtracting and multiplying polynomials. If time permits, we will also go through synthetic division. Bring a pen and paper as you will need to do a lot of rough working for this topic. We will start with the method, examples and end with a Quizizz quiz to see how well you can apply what you have learnt on your own. If you are struggling with this concept or you are planning to take Algebra II next year, this is going to be the perfect session for you.

Quadratics: Multiplying & factoring

In this session, we are going to cover solving quadratic equations by factorizing and the zero product property. We will do plenty of practice questions as "Practice makes perfect". This is especially true for solving quadratic equations from my experience. You will be able to solve the equations more efficiently if you practice more. If you have any doubts, or questions, feel free to bring them into this session.

Physics

A wise man once said: "The world is in a constant state of motion. To understand the world, you must first understand movement." That shows how important motion is to the study of the world, and to physics. This topic will be the fundamental for you to learn other topics in physics. If you have any doubts, or uncertainty related to motion, you are in the right place! Come into this session and learn more about Representations of Motion. ** This is part 2 out of a two-part series on kinematics. **

Systems of equations

In this session, we are going to cover word problems that involve systems of equations and inequalities. You should know about the three methods of solving systems of equations (graphing, substitution, elimination) and solving systems of inequalities (linear programming) in order to attend this session. If you don't already know about those, there are multiple sessions by some amazing tutors out there, you can definitely check them out here (https://schoolhouse.world/topic/92). We will go through many examples, the first few I will work through, then you will have a chance to try the problems out yourself. We are going to wrap up with a small Quizizz quiz.

Systems of equations

Systems of equations can be very useful in solving real world problems, and can be used very often in other math-based subjects like Physics or Chemistry. In this session, we will go through the three ways to solve systems or linear equations. We will go through the basics of systems of linear equations and go through some word problems. Also, bring in any question that you may have and I will be very happy to answer them. If you have a math-based question in Physics or Chemistry and you feel that you need to use systems of equations, bring them in as well.
