Details & FAQ
  • 25 questions, 60 minutes.
  • Scoring: (4 points per correct answer, 1 point per unanswered question, 0 for an incorrect answer)
  • In each session, there are two divisions for different difficulty levels. Division 1: new to competitive math/AMC 8 level. Division 2: mid-late AMC 10/12. PLEASE join the correct division.
  • Each session serves as a competition window, but you may only take the competition once. All you need to do is show up to one session, and one session only! No other forms or details needed.
  • The test will start exactly 15 minutes after the session start time, and end exactly 75 minutes after the session start time. There will be an undetermined <5 minute grace period for submissions.
  • Please join within the first 15 minutes! Otherwise, you'll lost a lot of time if you choose to compete, so we recommend attending a different session if you can't make it within that timeframe.
  • Ties are determined by submission time, but please don't submit tests too early! We've found that participants who submit first tend to have lower accuracy, making a tiebreaker meaningless.
  • If you participate in multiple tests, we'll take your comparatively lowest score.
  • Top scores given in sessions are unofficial. Awards and official scores are released at the awards ceremony.
  • KEEP YOUR SCRATCH PAPER! We'll reach out to top scorers individually for photos of it to confirm prize eligibility.

Prizes:
  1. Top 2 from each division: $25 AoPS coupon
  2. Top 25 from each division: free Interview + Coding course access (worth $50), featured in Geometry subworld announcement
  3. Top 25% of all scorers: Certificate of achievement, featuring percentile levels (top 1%, top 5%, top 10%, top 25%).
  4. Participation: entry into a Schoolhouse merch raffle

Session Structure
15 minutes--- Participants join
60 minutes--- Test begins
5 minutes--- Gathering statistics
10--- High scorers announced (unofficial, does not guarantee a prize)

What happens if I run into difficulties and can't take the test?
Please contact the hosts, and we'll make an exception for you to compete twice.

Can I compete in both divisions?
No. You can only take one test, at one time. If you take more than one, we'll use your comparatively lowest score across all tests taken.

What safety measures are being taken?
For testing dates July 19th and onward, we're implementing an extension on the form that will detect tab changes. For the July 18th session, there was a bit of a mix-up and only about half of participants were proctored. Google forms was still gathering some other data, so we'll manually search through that!

Can I submit an appeal?
Questions and solutions are posted on the 21st. If you find an issue with any solutions, please let us know between July 21st-25th! If an error is found, we'll give everyone points back.

The Competition
Anyone can join and compete in the 25-question 60-minute AMC style competition. The twist: every problem is a geometry problem.
Difficulty will range from AMC 8 to early AIME, so we welcome you to join regardless of your competitive math experience!

Top scorers will receive:
  • A $25 AoPS gift card (to 4 winners)
  • A personalized certificate
  • A shoutout from the Geometry subworld
  • A full access licenses to Interview Cake's coding + interview prep course (to 50 winners)

Other prizes:
  • The top 25% of scorers will also receive certificates.
  • All participants (and our fantastic competition volunteers) will additionally be entered for a SHW merch raffle!

Good luck! Please message Margaret S over Schoolhouse.world or Slack for any questions.

‼️Be sure to check out ACSIMC, a great academic competition with three difficulty levels spanning Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, and Combinatorics! Follow directions to register here.

Hi there! You are viewing the profile of a person who is the perfect example of a "too perfect" boy. My name is Balaskandan Rajmohan (please go ahead and call me Bala). If you want to attempt to pronounce my name, do so with my guidance. Bah- La- SK- An-Dan. I'm an 8th grader from Maryland going into 9th grade coming August 2025. I strive to help people achieve their goals and their inner sense of "SCIENCE." As Newton stated, "An Object Will Remain at Rest Unless Another Force Is Acted Upon It and An Object Will Stay in Motion Unless Another Force is Acted Upon It." As you have heard from the Law of Inertia, I want to make everyone's mindset a GROWING MINDSET rather a FIXED MINDSET. Yes, the Law of Inertia does relate to it: JUST THINK! As you have seen from my laws, I LOVE SCIENCE!!! I love Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, and importantly, NEUROSCIENCE! I love to learn and aspire my thinking to exploring the brain! In my free time, I love to DO SCIENCE, prepare for a Science Olympiad or any Science related competitions, or just chill in a corner and read Alan Gratz Books. I also love the Workman Publishing, "EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT: High School Series" Science Books such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Computer Science, Calculus or even World History!

Hey y'all! I'm Hind, a college freshman residing in KSA! I've been here on Schoolhouse as a tutor for over a year, and my goal is to share what I already know; I've also been a learner here for over two years to learn what I don't know! My strong suit is anything mathematics related, particularly calculus and advanced algebra; I've also scored a 700+ on the SAT math section and have a lot of science and English knowledge that I'd be more than happy to share! Furthermore, I'm a Schoolhouse moderator in the calculus subworld, so if any of you there are ever in need of any additional support or guidance, feel more than welcome to reach out! Outside of the Schoolhouse platform, I enjoy writing in English calligraphy, watching competitive cooking shows, and learning new languages, especially French and Arabic! I'm beyond grateful to be a part of this wonderful community, and it's a huge pleasure to meet all of you!
