Ever wanted to learn to juggle, type, or hold a conversation in a new language? If you have, this summer-long series is for you. 
Each week, there will be 1-2 sessions where you can learn something new. Make sure to bring your curiosity, passion, and sense of adventure. We can't wait to see you there!

I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Madison, where I studied Molecular and Cell Biology and Scientific Communication. I currently work at an international biotechnology company working in their small molecule department as a scientist developing new medicines. Hello, everyone. My name is Joseph. I am a homeschooled high school rising senior from China, yet I am enrolled in an American program. I am the Founder of the Reading and Writing Subworld and a former moderator (Nov 2023-May 2025); I am now a moderator of the Tutor Subworld. On Schoolhouse, I mainly focus on hosting and constructing community events, like game nights and academic competitions. I also tutor English literature and the Chinese language. I played the instrument Hulusi (gourd flute), a traditional Chinese instrument, and reached the top level in 2022; I also have fundamental knowledge of piano and the Chinese bamboo flute. I enjoy creating with art, especially ink pen sketching and digital; I also enjoy creating atlases for imaginary worlds. In my free time, I like to play video games (Honor of Kings, Arena Breakout, and Minecraft), rollerblade, play soccer, and watch movies. How to crochet! 
Have you ever dreamed of making your own clothes or little tshotshke to give to friends and family? If so, this is the session for you. We will be going over some basic stitches and then making a bookmark! This session will be around 60 minutes and will be interactive. Have your creativity ready to use.

Materials: crochet hook, your favorite yarn (size doesn’t matter too much, but try to avoid overly bulky yarn, as it won’t work well for a bookmark)

Looking to combine 3D art and photography skills? This session focuses on making simple, but realistic 3D figurines and backdrops from common materials found all over the house and then combining photography to make great photos.
Session includes: making a skydiving figure, fake crime scene, restaurant scenes, and open to ideas from learners.
Materials to use: (all optional and common materials) aluminum foil, hot glue and tape or plastic wrap, cardboard, colored/black/white paper, toothpicks, and color pencils.

How To Juggle
🏀Want to be a better athlete? If yes, juggling is the skill for you. Juggling increases eye-hand coordination, reflexes, and coordination, which are skills that any athlete or person can benefit from. 
🕵️Ever wanted to feel like Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot with his "little grey cells?" Studies have found that learning how to juggle can increase the density of grey matter.
Finally, do you want to impress your friends and family? If you asked all of them if they knew how to juggle, you might get 1 or 2 who answered "yes." Juggling is a skill you can pull out at parties, talent shows 😉, or just impressing your friends in the lunch room.

This session will be about 60 minutes (but I'll stay longer to answer any questions). We will begin with an icebreaker, talk a little about the benefits of juggling, then spend time learning and practicing. To be able to juggle three balls, there are three different steps, and we'll talk about each of them with a lot of time for independent practice and to ask questions. 
Also, feel free to have your camera on or off! If it's on, I'll be able to provide feedback, but if not, that's okay too!

Materials: for this class, you will need three round objects. These could be dryer balls, rolled up socks , or (if you have them) juggling balls.
