About

We will be thoroughly going over every unit from AP Calculus AB/BC. Keep in mind, AP Calculus AB & BC have the same lessons and content, excluding Unit 9 & 10 which aren't offered for AP Calculus AB.

We will provide ample problems and examples. Slideshows are available online in the drive:
https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1gsUKkR2I8HWGUFqp4Hb9q6pU3rfJYthB
Content in the slides may be added throughout the sessions as applicable. Additionally, we host schoolhouse.world practice problem-sets to further check your understanding.

With a mix of independent work and avid participation throughout our series, you will walk out of this series with a guaranteed 5 and a love for Calculus!

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Given the relatively short amount of time per session in every accompanying unit, each session is quite comprehensive, and it is highly recommended that you attend every session as they build upon one another.

However, we understand that there are circumstances where you must miss a session which is why our drive is public for you to independently catch-up on. Nonetheless, if this case applies to you, please contact the host (and co-host) informing us of your absence. Failure to do so will result in an unexcused absence and could result in a withdrawal if one would to accumulate at least two of these absences.

Communication is key and you registering for this series is taking the first step in trying to learn Calculus. You must put in the effort and attending these classes is just one of many steps to ensure a greater understanding and subsequent greater score for your AP test (if you so choose to take it).

About the Tutors

I'm a highschool student from Arizona. My hobbies are playing the piano, working out, and Brazilian jiu jitsu. I am joining Schoolhouse because I love helping others out, especially in fields I love.

View Sam F's Profile

I am a senior enrolled in a public high school. I'm looking to improve my reading, writing, and grammar skills, but I am open to assisting others in more analytical subjects related to math. Contact me for any inquiries/questions.

Session 1

Limits and continuity

We are going to cover the entirety of unit 1 of AP Calculus AB/BC, limits and continuity. This unit is the underlying foundation for each following unit in the AB/BC curriculum.
22
Sep

Session 2

Differentiation: definition and basic derivative rules

We will learn the basics of derivatives! Get ready to do slope calculations like you've never done before!
29
Sep

Session 3

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Continuing on with derivatives, we will learn new methods of solving different types of functions, along with a special rule taking us back to limits!
6
Oct

Session 4

Contextual applications of differentiation

You will apply derivatives to real world scenarios. While this can be confusing at first, once you get it, the problems are very fun to solve!
14
Oct

Session 5

Applying derivatives to analyze functions

You will use derivatives for optimization, as well as carrying along with applying derivatives to real world scenarios!
20
Oct

Session 6

Integration and accumulation of change

We will learn something other than derivatives, integrals! These can sometimes be beasts, but they are super fun to solve!
27
Oct

Session 7

Differential equations

With your new knowledge of derivatives and integrals, you will apply them both to equations that contain derivatives inside of them, a.k.a differential equations!
3
Nov

Session 8

Applications of integration

We will look at applications of integration, applying them to real world scenarios, similar to what we did with derivatives (units four and five)!
10
Nov

Session 9

Parametric equations, polar coordinates, and vector-valued functions

We will cover parametric equations, polar coordinates, and vector-valued functions. These will be a review from pre-calc, but with Calculus now!
17

Session 10

Infinite sequences and series

Finally, the last unit and quite possibly the one deemed most challenging, infinite sequences and series. However, do not be frightened for we will make sure you fully understand this unit and all the comprehensive details it contains.
