About

Hi, I'm Nancy! I'm a high school junior in California and I'm excited to help learners prep for the English section of the upcoming June SAT! English scores can really make or break the entire testing experience, but I believe that reading+writing is something very manageable with the right resources and prep!
Outside of school, I enjoy being in the great outdoors and aspire to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. Contradictorily, I am also a major couch potato; you can find me splurging on my favorite TV show Grey's Anatomy all weekend long. 👍


This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in both Reading and Writing & Language. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than one session over the four weeks, as that will negatively affect your learning and may also take up a spot from another learner who could have attended every session.

If you reach two unexcused absences, your tutor may remove you from this series.

Note from Schoolhouse: This series has sessions with required attendance. If you need to miss a required session, submit an absence using the "Submit Excused Absence" button on the series page. Multiple unexcused absences may lead to a suspension of your Schoolhouse account.

About the Tutor

I'm a rising high school senior from NorCal. I’m passionate about health science and have experience with multiple AP courses. I’m looking to take AP Physics 2 and C next year and any help would be appreciated! We'll start with an orientation to get to know each other. Then, we will work through a shortened practice exam and review questions you'd like to go over. To wrap up the session, we'll go over some testing tips.

We'll begin with group practice of a Focus Skill in the Information & Ideas Domain. Then, we will work through a shortened practice exam and review questions you'd like to go over.

We'll begin with group practice of a Focus Skill in the Expression of Ideas Domain. Then, we will work through a shortened practice exam and review questions you'd like to go over.

We will go over some testing strategies for taking the digital SAT and you will have the opportunity to take a full practice test on the Bluebook platform.

SAT Reading & Writing

You'll have some time to review and reflect on your results from the Bluebook practice exam. Then, we will review questions you'd like to go over and end with group practice of a Focus Skill in the Standard English Conventions Domain.

We'll work through another practice exam and review questions you'd like to go over.

We'll spend time reviewing all of the previous Focus Skills we covered together. To end the session (and the bootcamp!), we'll wrap up everything and provide some final words of advice/encouragement.
