Past the AP Curriculum

4th session

While the AP Curriculum gives an introduction to many concepts important in the study of physics, certain aspects of selected topics are sometimes presented briefly, or not covered in a traditional class. These sessions will aim to provide additional insight into various topics starting in mechanics, with more sessions added later. Emphasis will be placed on problem solving, which could assist in future physics courses at the college level, or in planned high school classes in this subject for the next school year. Necessary math will be presented as needed, so please don't let a perceived level of difficulty prevent your participation!

A Lavel/ British Phsics Olympiad/ AP Physics

22nd session

Each day we will have 2 hour sessions where we will work smarter to get the grades we want. We will achieve this through practice questions, past papers and reviewing concepts from the AQA A Level syllabus, the British Physics Olympiad questions and more. The the ongoing sessions will be as follows: 1. Topic Review of the YEAR 1 and some of the Year 2 content from the AQA A Level syllabus, this will available on a Drive file including the books, and notes from both the first and second year (1h) link-[https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LQ840t5izt6W9vh5de64QkgzavZYswWr?usp=drive_link](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LQ840t5izt6W9vh5de64QkgzavZYswWr?usp=drive_link) 2. Specific questions by topic and we will have challenging questions from the BPhO (1h) 3. Once a week, we will do a full 2 hours past paper and the next lesson will be a review of the wrong questions (2h).

Physics: The Basics!

2nd session

This series is intended for those who have never done physics before! Throughout this series, I'll give you the very basics of algebra-based physics (not AP specific, and no calculus) to give you the foundation for any future classes!

Summer AP Physics 1 Review/Introduction

6th session

This series can serve two purposes: it can be a review of AP Physics 1 for students taking AP Physics 2 next school year or it can be an introduction to AP Physics 1 for students taking it next school year. If you are in either one of these categories, feel free to join the sessions! I'm going to be covering all 8 units in the AP curriculum in this series and depending on the students, we might go at different paces for each unit. (I've only added five sessions but I add on sessions depending on our pace). I hope this series helps students feel more prepared for whatever physics course they are taking next school year.

This course covers all of the regents physics curriculum plus some additional topics: Vectors/Kinematics, Dynamics/Forces, Circular Motion/Gravity, Momentum, Work/Energy/Power, Electricity/Magnetism, Charges/Electrostatics Modern Physics. The only necessary materials are pencil, paper, and a calculator.

AP Physics C Mechanics

4th session

I plan to cover topics inside the scope of AP Physics C Mechanics, which are: 1. Kinematics 2. Newton's Laws of Motion 3. Work, Energy, and Power 4. Linear Momentum 5. Rotation 6. Oscillations 7. Gravitation The learns should expect a lesson to be broken down into small parts, where instruction is followed by example problems, and they should expect to participate in solving the example problems.

A complete review of Magnetism

4th session

Magnetism is an integral part of the technology in our lives, from mobile phones to MRI scans. In this series, we will get introduced to magnetism, what it is, what magnetic fields are, how they are produced and their effects. We will use calculus extensively, so it is highly recommended that you be familiar with it. Knowledge about current, charges and electric is also required. The textbook used is [https://openstax.org/details/books/university-physics-volume-2/](https://openstax.org/details/books/university-physics-volume-2/)

Road To 5: AP Physics I

4th session

This series will give you a head start for your AP Physics I class this coming year. We will cover all the topics covered in the AP Physics exam and go through past year FRQs and some MCQs to better understand the concepts. Throughout the series, we will use Khan Academy's AP Physics I course for practice problems. Note: I've only added 2 sessions so far. After the first 2 meetings, we can decide to change the meeting times or continue with the same for the rest of the If needed, we can have additional Q/A sessions to clarify concepts and work through multiple practice problems.

Relationships Between Physical Quantities in terms of Calculus (AP Physics C: Mechanics)

2nd session

This series will cover relationships between different physical quantities in AP Physics C: Mechanics in terms of calculus, with relationships in a specific unit being covered each week. Prior knowledge should include both a conceptual understanding of integrals and derivatives and an ability to integrate and differentiate to solve problems, as well as completion of AP Physics 1 or equivalent. Materials needed will include a graphing calculator, paper, and a pen/pencil, because practice problems will be provided.

Get ready for AP Physics 1

20th session

This course will prepare you for AP Physics 1 if you will take it next year, or if you are just willing to learn in general. Keep in mind that starting the 2024-2025 school year, there will be an additional unit called fluids. This course doesn't cover fluids, but it is still helpful for all the other units! Also, sessions in this series will be added further on, and some may change, depending on if we need more time with certain units. Prerequisites: A good understanding of algebra and completion of Algebra II and Geometry.

How does Newton's mind work?🤔 In this series let's find that out! Combining Calculus and Physics, we go into Newton's brain, and hopefully pass AP Physics!👏 It is not extended until May yet, because I do not know my schedule, but I will keep this going!

This crash course is designed to be a conceptual preparation for students taking college/AP Physics 1 course in the fall. We will cover the first seven units of AP Physics 1 (Kinematics, Dynamics, Circular Motion & Gravitation, Energy, Momentum, Simple Harmonic Motion, Rotational Motion) so that you will have a solid grasp of the concepts before the school year starts! Suggested Prereqs: Algebra II and some Right-Angle Trigonometry Looking forward to teaching y'all!

AP Physics 1 Prep (understanding concepts)

10th session

Having taken AP Physics 1 last year, I know the pacing of the class is quite fast, I was expected to come to class, already have watched assigned videos, and ready to work. Through this course, I aim to prepare students taking AP Physics 1 next year by taking the time to explain the foundation concepts of physics and give students the time to ponder and ask any questions they have. A feature that may not be available to them in the actual AP Physics class because of its pace.

Get Ready for AP Physics 1 - Score 5!

7th session

This is my 2nd AP Physics 1 series that I am hosting. During my freshman year, I scored a 5 on the AP Physics 1 exam. My goal in this series is to help you do the same! Each week we will discuss a different topic from the AP Physics curriculum for the first while working on AP style problems to get ready for the school year. I will be using materials from Khan Academy as well as sample AP problems and physics worksheets. There will be a heavy emphasis on the core concepts of physics which comprise of the first two units of AP Physics 1. This is because they are the most important units in order to understand physics and do well in the class as well as exam.

4th session

I hope to cover various units and parts of units in AP Physics C Mechanics and AP Physics C Electricity and Magnetism in this series. I want to teach concepts and then go over sample scenarios and practice problems. After reviewing all topics for a unit, I want to go over AP Physics C questions released by College Board if time permits.

  • Electric Potentials

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

We'll talk about electric potentials, focusing on the idea behind the concept and a few application problems from a textbook, after a brief review on basic electrostatics content such as electric field and coulombic forces.
At the end, we may also discuss finding fields and potentials from continuous charge distributions, which would require basic knowledge on integration.
