Cozy Study Space 🍵🌿✨ (With Games From Steam)

15th session

Welcome to a cozy study space to maximize your skills and grades! Whether you want to study for an upcoming AP class or the DSAT or want to focus on a new hobby, we got you covered! We plan to use different aesthetic themes in every session to motivate you and make studying more enjoyable.📚☕️ My goal is to make these sessions friendly for eastern time zones. Since it’s pretty rare to come across that on SHW, I want to create a place for people like me living in Asian/European countries to hang out and study! This space will mostly be using a longer version of the Pomodoro timer method with 40-minute study intervals and 5-minute breaks. During the 40 minutes, it's important for students to not open their microphones because doing so may be harmful to other students' learning. You can use this time to study anything you want, as long as you're being productive! *Open for co-hosts*

🌐 The Late Late Econ Talk 🌐

6th session

Are you someone who loves following & discussing economic news? Staying up to date with the market & the economy around the world is crucial, and sharing thoughts on it with someone else can add you great insights. However, findinding a mate to discuss economy is like finding a needle in a haystack, as school kids seem to be more interested in gossip in school than stuffs like inflation and interest rates that are affecting the whole world. This craving drived me to create 'The Late Late Econ Talk' here on schoolhouse. I borrowed the theme of late-night TV programs to name this special series. Just like late night talk show, we will discuss what happened in the economy this week in a very relaxed environment. Every Saturday before you go to bed, drop by 'The Late Late Econ Talk' for 30 minutes, and it will be the perfect recap of the week. I will post major economic events of the week we could discuss with bullet points at least 7 hours before the session starts. Feel free to leave the issues you want to dicuss, and you could also share the link of the news article you want the members to take a look. And don't feel pressured—If any topic you are not familiar with appears, others who are well-informed about the topic will explain. We will not rush; instead we will always make sure that everyone shares the same level of understanding before we delve into discussion. Now, join 'The Late Late Econ Talk', and expand your insights into the economy! 🌐

If I am qualified to answer, I'll do that right away but if not I'll do my best to support you in finding someone who has the answer! 🥤 If possible, bring a snack and/or drink for the break!

Tips for Studying French (at any level, including AP/Equivalent!)

Starts

Bonjour! J'espère que vous allez bien! This short series is specifically designed for anyone taking an advanced French class (French 2/3+, AP French or equivalent) or anyone self-studying the French language or the AP/equivalent French exam who would like tips for success and further improving your language skills outside of the classroom! From my experience self-studying for the AP French exam while taking a lower-level French class, I’ve learned that your ability to speak and understand a language can often be more dependent on the effort you put in outside of the classroom. The strategies we’ll go over will help you succeed on writing/speaking/listening comprehension assessments in any level of French class, as well as on the AP Exam! More than half of each session will be a time for you to raise questions and concerns or things you may want to improve on in your French studies, and I’ll try to help out as best I can. I'll share strategies/tips in French only if you all are comfortable with it (answer in the welcome question), but you're welcome to speak whichever language is easiest for you!
