Thank you so much for this session, it really helped me get a feel for what a bootcamp would be like!

Yes, the fact that Saanvi was able to explain her reasoning in depth—even when uncertain—shows that she was actively thinking through problems rather than just guessing. The confidence she displayed in brushing off mistakes also suggests that she is becoming more resilient in her learning process.

The learning environment felt dynamic and supportive. The laughter and bonding at the beginning helped set a positive tone, and your encouragement made it a space where students weren’t afraid to make mistakes. For future sessions, you might consider using breakout groups or paired discussions to maintain that engagement while also deepening peer learning.

You had a great conversation with Lopez at the beginning of the session to understand his current level in SAT, his struggles, and the practices he has completed so far. This is a great way to understand and adapt to the learner's unique needs. You let the learner read the question, attempt it, and provide his reasoning even if it is the wrong answer. This is the best way to help the learner understand his mistake. You also confirmed his progress and stated that he has improved his strategy at the end of the session.

Hi Mia, Good job on your session on SAT help. You went through several SAT questions with Lopez at different levels of complexity and provided good explanations. I liked your idea of highlighting the keywords in the questions. You were well prepared for the session, sounded confident and provided great tips for the learner to improve his English skills.

I understand that this is a Live Help session and evaluating a learner's prior knowledge on a book that aren't familiar with is difficult. However, there were some opportunities to ask questions that evaluated the learner's knowledge before the session. As a warm-up, you could've asked the learner to provide a quick summary of the book to analyze the learner's understanding of the given material. You did a great job of exhibiting the learner's knowledge after addressing the first question and made sure that the learner was driving the question rather than most of the work coming from the tutor.

Mia, since this was a Live Help session, you didn't have any previous material prepared or any subject in mind before starting the session. But based on your understanding of the question, you demonstrated a great ability to analyze exactly what the question was asking the learner and its purpose. For the first question in the passage, it asked: "What is the mood created?". You effectively explained that the question wanted to invoke the learner's perspective and understanding of the book. Acting as a warm-up to engage the learner in the following questions. Great job :)

The learner definitely made progress, for example, near the end, she got more confident with sharing her own ideas and she also gave her own input.

One thing that stood out was how you made Saanvi feel comfortable enough to give full-depth explanations, even when she wasn’t sure if she was right. That kind of confidence-building is crucial for learning. For example, after a difficult question, you could ask, “What’s one takeaway from this problem that we should remember for next time?”

Tutor · 14 days ago

Yes, you were well prepared and brought a great energy to the session. Your ability to build a comfortable and engaging environment before diving into learning helped set a positive tone. The way you encouraged open conversation made the session feel more relaxed and approachable.

she's amazing. PERIOD.

Learner · 1 mo. ago

yes, Lopez was able to answer SAT reading questions correctly, for example, the question related to the book "Smart pricing". He also provided reasoning for his answer.

You were friendly, sounded motivating, provided great tips to improve his English skills as he is an international student. You told him that you see improvement in his strategy, at the end of the session, made him feel better.

I liked how you were very open for anything. Even though you were more experienced, you were never rude or arrogant with your learner which is a great quality to have.

Just wanted to say a big thanks for editing and cutting down my assignment twice! I really appreciate your help—it’s looking so much better now. You’re the best!

Thank you so much for the session you explained the material in a clear and concise manner!

There was evidence that the learner made progress, they effectively answered the question once they understood what the prompt meant. Mia did a great job of breaking down what the question asked into an easier prompt which made it easier for Sudiksha to answer the question. In the end, she was able to answer both of the questions that she had difficulty with with the help of Mia.

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

I like how you asked her if she had any ideas for certain questions that she was stuck on instead of giving her the answers right away. You also explained every single answer in-depth, so great job on that! I also liked how you asked her what she thought after you gave your own ideas, so great job!

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

I liked how you improved upon her ideas and offered different insights. I also like how you deeply explained the personal analysis questions and let her know that there is no right or wrong answer.
