You did an excellent job conveying operations with fractions. One analogy you did well on is when explaining how to divide with fractions through explaining it in terms of whole numbers and how multiplying would increase them and dividing with decrease them. That helped Jacob understand how dividing fractions is the same as multiplying its reciprocal. Additionally, when you started to do problems relating to subtracting fractions, you connected it back to adding fractions with the common denominators, which helped Jacob subtract fractions, which was clever. After each problem as well, you also give a small summary how to solve the problem.

I love how you make the learner feel confident and safe throughout the entire session. At the start of the session, you encouraged the learner by praising them, saying that they were learning advanced material for only being in 8th grade. Good job with making the learner feel safe and confident!

You did a great job with checking the learners prior knowledge by asking them if they knew the topics that you were going over. You also adapted to the learners needs based on whether they knew a topic or not. You kept engaging them and asking them questions, and you kept making sure that they were learning the material. I like the way that you included some of your personal tips and tricks which makes the boot camp feel exclusive and I think that when it comes from the tutor, it is easier to remember than just a simple YouTube video for example. I saw this when you explained the first example on Kahn Academy without giving away the answer. You used easy-to-follow annotations on the problems that the learners had trouble with. You knew what they were talking about and explained it so that people could easily ask questions.I feel that this helps learners who study with visuals greatly.

Overall, this session was very comfortable to be in with your lead in it. For example. when Jacob made mistakes or didn't know a concept with the problems involving fractions, not only did you correct them, but you made it such that he can learn from it by reexplaining the underlying concepts to the problems as well. (Ex. the 7 times table and you even offered to help outside of the section as well) and giving him words of encouragement. Both of you also collaborated equally in a friendly way, making it feel like a classroom, which not only makes this community friendly, but also interactive.
