Want to up your pre-algebra game?! This could be the course for you! We will be following Khan Academy's Geometry course and going through the problems together. A new unit will be covered each week starting with Unit 1. We would like for this series to be very learner-driven, so additional office hours will be scheduled based on availability. How each session will be run: 1. Recap of previous unit/topic 2. Intro to new unit + assessment of prior knowledge The units and topics that will be covered are listed as the session descriptions! Based on how much you already know about each topic, we will head into some practice problems. Assessments will also be assigned at the end of each session so that you can accurately reflect on what you're doing well at and what might need more work! Extra office hours can absolutely be scheduled if more help is needed! I hope this will be a safe and inviting space for us all to learn and explore pre-algebra together! The topics that will be discussed in this series are Introduction to variables, substituting, and evaluating expressions, combining like terms, and introduction to equivalent expressions. And after each unit is completed, we will have a unit test.

Each week, we will cover one unit of Khan Academy's Algebra 1 course. This series will be very learner-based, so what we spend more/less time on is completely up to you! This session has a limit of 5 learners so that everyone has many chances to answer questions, ask questions, and receive personalized assignments/instruction. More sessions will be added as we go.

This series will not focus very heavily on proofs and construction, but it will give you a solid base for understanding and creating them. Based on how much you already know about this topic, we will head into some practice problems. We will learn and review multiple topics in quadratics using Khan Academy for practice problems each week. We will cover the following concepts(not in the exact order): 1. What are quadratics? 2. Standard form (basic) 3. Intro to graphing parabolas. 4. How to solve quadratics 5. Intro to the Quadratic Formula 6. Standard, Vertex, and Intercept forms 7. Word Problems 8. Transformations 9. Shortcuts when it comes to solving a quadratic equation 10. Domain and Range 11. Quadratic Inequalities Depending on how long each topic takes to cover we may cover multiple in one session:)
