Serena built a very comfortable and supportive place to learn. She started the session with a warm friendly greeting. She also made it clear that the warm up was meant to be confusing so students wouldn't get discouraged. She said things like "Don't worry if you didn't get it" and "I can understand your thought process there" to value students' efforts and reasoning even when they weren't quite right.

Serena came into the session ready to go. She had a clear plan with a warm up to start a Kahoot game in the middle and a strategy talk at the end. The warm up question was a tough one but it was perfect for showing how hard some SAT questions can be. She clearly knows a lot about the SAT reading and writing sections especially when it comes to spotting common tricks and hidden details in the answer choices.

Very well structured, she has a good plan which is really useful for us to see so that we understand exactly what we’re doing. She broke it down very interactively by using kahoot and different exercises so I really liked the variety of techniques used to study vocab!!
