About

This session will explain, in great detail, the concepts and topics of units 1 and 2 of the AP Biology exam. These two units are: Chemistry of life, and Cell Structure and Function. Topics and concepts covered by these units include: structural and chemical properties of water, the structure and makeup of DNA and RNA, cellular components and their functions, cell interaction with their environment, regulatory mechanisms of cells such as osmosis and selective permeability, cellular compartmentalization, and the four macromolecules of life: lipids, carbohydrates, proteins, nucleus acids. While this session is ideal for people currently taking AP Biology and want to review the topics covered in units 1 and 2, anyone interested in biology is welcome to attend this session to learn more about biology.
