About

Hello, welcome to this beginner's ukulele session! :) Learning to play an instrument is a great hobby to uptake, as studies show that not only does playing music relax, elevate moods, and improve mental health but furthermore, it enhances cognitive function (amongst many other benefits)! Who wouldn't want that? As such, I would love to teach you the basics of playing the ukulele, as I personally found it the easiest and most enjoyable instrument to uptake through self-teaching, and I hope this session will kickstart your ukulele journey so you can begin playing what you really love. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🤔 Who is this session intended for: This session is intended for complete beginners, e.g those who may only be able to play 2-3 chords or are fresh and just starting! 💡What will we be learning: In this session, I will cover the very basics of the ukulele, including: 1.) Brief overview of the ukulele. - 2.) The names of the various parts of the ukulele. - 3.) How to tune your ukulele. - 4.) How to hold + strum your ukulele. - 5.) How to play essential chords on your ukulele. ( C, Em, F, G, Am ) - 6.) How to read basic tablature ( finger-picking ) - 7.) How to play the songs (using the previous chords) 'Riptide', 'Someone to Lava', and maybe 'Hey there Delilah', depending on how quickly we progress. - 8.) Answering any questions you may have on the ukulele at the end. What you will need: 1.) A ukulele ( however you can still attend if you don't currently have one )
