Olivia:
Incoming senior with who has helped a number of students build up their resume!
I currently run the KWN, Model UN, Newspaper, and Social Discourse clubs at my school and am a co-president of Peer Leadership and the Red Cross club. I am the president of the Student Council and serve as the Student Representative for the Board of Education. Additionally, I am the team leader for the Digital Action Campaign Team, which is a part of the Hudson County Youth Leadership Council, and work as a youth advisor for the Children's Interagency Coordinating Councils (CIACC) and a Student Ambassador for CollegeBoard BigFuture. I love to write, and four of my articles have been published by the Jersey Journal (NJ.com) over the past 6 months. I aspire to work in foreign affairs, and have worked and/or continue to work for numerous non-profit organizations such as The Institute for Youth in Policy (as the Director of Ideas and Solutions), The Borgen Project (most recently as a Regional Director), MindLeaps (as an International Development Intern), Minds Beyond Measure (as a Grant Writer), the International Rescue Committee (as a Peer Mentor), and the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization. In May 2023, I was awarded the United Nations Association National Community Service Ambassador award for my 500+ hours of dedication to UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (education). I've won four awards for my performance in Model UN conferences at Columbia University and Princeton University, and I'm also an AP Scholar with Distinction.
Rohan:
Hi, I am Rohan and I am a rising senior in California. I aspire to major in Psychology, so much of my experiences are related to working with people and helping out in my community. I am part of the OneProsper International non-profit organization and I have been involved with this organization for 3+ years now, holding positions of a peer mentor, ambassador, outreach manager, and an UI/UX tester. I am a volunteer at FCSN and I have been involved with this organization for 1 to 1.5 years now. In the upcoming school year, I will be the secretary of the FCSN club at school. I am a mentor at Young Mentors and have recently taken up the position of an Outreach Lead through an opportunity from this organization, and now lead a group of five members(including me) in raising $7K funds for our mission. I have been a Track and Field athlete for two years and I participate in the events, Long Jump, Triple Jump, 400 meter dash, and 4 x 400, although my specialities/focus are Long and Triple jump. Although I don't officially have the position and since our jumps group was small, I got to assume the title of captain and lead my team to success. I am the President of the Public Health Initiative club at school and lead a team of five to spread awareness about our club and our mission. I am the Vice President at the non-profit organization, Chirag Hope, and co-founded an initiative to build libraries in the rural areas of India. I lead a team of ten members from various chapters of our organization to raise a total of $1500. I have been an Election worker during the November general election and have been paid as well. I am part of the Principal Advisory Committee at school and have given suggestions to the Principal about improving our school. I have participated in the Walk to end Alzheimer's and have been featured in our school newspaper. I am part of the non-profit organization Seva Commons and help prepare meals for the needy. I am also part of the Shooting Stars Foundation(SSF), in which I lead summer camps. Lastly, I am part of a few more clubs at school, but I was just a member and did not volunteer much of my time to them, so I am not listing their specific names here.
