About

I will teach you machine learning that you can use to make a website, app, and more with some examples at the end! First, I will teach from a noncoding perspective and cover databases and some tools that require no programming. Then we will move onto the most basic of lessons in coding with Python so that you learn about linear correlation, then I will give you some tools to learn other forms of machine learning! Join if you are interested in games, ideas, knoweledge, and more!

Tutor Qualifications

I'm Alvia Naqvi, a junior at a Maryland High School with a strong passion for computer science. I am the president of my school Computer Science Honor Society and a part of the Cyber Security Competition Team. I have showcased my skills is through participating in hackathons and I have received recognition and awards from Caltech, UMich, and Virginia Tech. I have also taken and gotten 5's in AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Programming in Java, and AP Calculus.

Session 1

Computer Science

We'll play a https://skribbl.io/ game for some time, do a few ice breakers, then cover the concept of machine learning and its significance in various fields. We will look at some examples, and then learn about why we should learn machine learning. Mostly, let's get to know eachother!

Session 2

Computer Science

We'll play a trivia game on Blooket, then we will learn about the different types of machine learning algorithms: supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning. We will cover what each type does, and the advantages and disadvantages.

Session 3

Computer Science

We will create a word cloud together first with slido. Then we will play around with google teachable machine to try and create our own machine learning models! If time permits, I will show you how to embed the model into a website.

Session 4

Computer Science

We'll play two truths and a lie, then we will take a look at data preprocessing. We will strat our first real bit of coding as well, as we will learn techniques for handling missing data, outliers, and categorical variables.

Session 5

Computer Science

We'll play a (tame!) game of would you rather, then we will learn about data visualization and some more coding. We'll learn about correlation and how that can influence how we start some basic linear regression using popular libraries like Scikit-learn.
