Hey there! I'm Lian, a current microbiology major in university, and this session, we're going to learn all about the Gram stain. We'll go over its history, biological mechanisms & how it works, what it's looking for, and then finally, I'll demo a stain at the end of the session! Whether you're a biology-related major like myself, interested in science in general, or just want to learn about a new thing, consider joining this session!

Hi, I'm Lian (any pronouns), and I'm a rising university sophomore! I'm from Massachusetts, lived in Washington for a few years, and now I'm back for university. My favorite subjects are any science, but especially biology, math, and languages. Some of my other interests are drawing, painting, video games, and D&D.

In this one-time session, we will cover the Gram stain in great detail- from its beginnings, uses, and major place in microbiology and bacteriology, to how its used now. Then, at the end of this session, I will demonstrate a real-life Gram stain, and provide resources for you to do it yourself as well (if that interests you)
