About

Following the completion of the Binomial distribution, we will now focus on X ~ Geo(p) where P(X=r)=p(1–p)^(r–1). We identify real “repeat‑until‑success” situations, use notation, and apply the probability and expectation formula E(X)=1/p (proof not required). More than half of the class is devoted to CAIE past‑paper questions and discussion of model suitability.
It is recommended that you bring a pen, a calculator, and paper.
If you don't have one, then Desmos would be a suitable alternative.
It is advisable that you have a solid understanding of fundamental probability and some basic knowledge about the Binomial distribution.
