Geometric Distribution – Concepts, Formulae & Practice

    3rd session

Following the completion of the Binomial distribution, we will now focus on X ~ Geo(p) where P(X=r)=p(1–p)^(r–1). We identify real “repeat‑until‑success” situations, use notation, and apply the probability and expectation formula E(X)=1/p (proof not required). More than half of the class is devoted to CAIE past‑paper questions and discussion of model suitability. It is recommended that you bring a pen, a calculator, and paper. If you don't have one, then Desmos would be a suitable alternative. It is advisable that you have a solid understanding of fundamental probability and some basic knowledge about the Binomial distribution.

You answer and clarify as much as needed, and ask learners to elaborate to pinpoint the exact cause of the confusion

I see you're ready for the session doing some last minute review on your notes before it begins, and I can see deep understanding of the material because of not only your detailed notes, but also how you explain everything simply without unnecessary fancy words

One unique way you continuously engage readers is the setup of your notes. Your notes flow very smoothly, showing logical connection. I think this continuously engages readers because they can see the connections physically and may want to see it, like a map

I love that you adapted to the learner's needs. As you went through each steps in process of the linear equation solutions and taking your time to allow the student learners to ask questions being patient and rephrasing your response to them when they did ask questions for each problem. So great job with that
