About

I plan on trying out a different type of teaching, since this is experimental. Every few sessions I highlight a place on Earth, and based on that location, I will introduce concepts in Marine Biology, including: - Marine Ecosystems - Species Interactions and Adaptations - Disturbances and Density Dependent/Independent Factors - Human Disruptions and Solutions - Evolution and Genetics - Endangered Species - Calculating Biodiversity, Species Richness and Evenness - And a BUNCH of other stuff depending on learners' needs I would prefer that people taking this course have some knowledge in Biology (if you are taking it now that's totally fine!), Math (its very light math), and Environmental Science (heavy topic in marine bio) but even if you don't know that's totally fine!

Tutor Qualifications

I have experience in Marine Biology, taken regular Biology Sophomore Year, and am currently taking AP Environmental Science (the concepts are really similar for the most part) and I will be taking AP Biology next year.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please don't miss 3 sessions total! If I don't finish a presentation, I finish it during the next session and I wouldn't want anyone missing out information.

About the Tutor

I am a senior who hasn’t faced senioritis yet (unfortunately). I love binging new shows, studying (kidding!), and taking long naps.

I plan on starting my new presentation and working through it. If there are specific requests for concepts, I will do my best to answer them. I also plan on having a small portion at the beginning of this session doing a review from the previous concepts (there were a LOT)

Session 4

Review

I plan on finishing my second presentation, maybe doing a review if we have time, and looking at real world examples of what we have learned in the past sessions. I will also hold a small surprise (well not too much of a surprise now) poll at the end.

Session 5

Review

This will be a review meeting in case we took too long on some presentations and need to catch up! I will let you know which is which when the time comes :) (ps this is after new years and christmas because i think learning about fish during christmas is a little overboard, yes?)
