About

Need to get a head-start on geometry for the school year? Or do you just need a review? If either one is true, then this is a great course for you. We will cover the majority of topics covered in high school geometry. We will meet everyday for a little more than a week and study different topics. We will cover: Lines, Angles, Shapes, Circles, Special Right Triangles, Basic Trigonometry, Analytical Geometry, Transformations, Congruence and Similarity, and Constructions. If you have any questions regarding advanced geometry I will help with that. During the series, if you have any questions or concerns please contact me and I will be happy to host an office hours for you. Hope to see you all there! - Rahul

About the Tutor

My name is Rahul, and I’m a high school freshman. I love reading, photography, and the outdoors. In my spare time, I like to read, play video games, code, and go outside. I love math because of the countless number of ideas, thoughts, and outputs, and it's really astonishing to see a subject as big as math unfold into tiny, tiny, parts. As for math, I'm currently taking Calculus 2. I hope to see you guys in my sessions!

Orientation

We will go over basic introductions, rules, and the syllabus. We will also go over the attendance policy and the dates and times for sessions.

Other Topics

Lines and Planes: We will go over lines, line segments, and rays. We will also cover parallel and perpendicular lines, and a little bit about planes. We will be doing some practice problems throughout the lesson. We will also learn about constructions and how to do some basic ones.

Angles

Angles: We will go over angles, how to measure them, and constructing them. We will also learn about different types of angle relations and transversals. We will be doing some practice problems throughout the session.

Shapes

Shapes: We will learn to identify 2D and 3D shapes, learn about area and volume for these shapes, and learn about the angles of polygons. We will also construct a few shapes.

Circles

Circles: We will go over circle basics, circle circumference and area, arc measure and length, and inscribed angle theorems. If we have time, we will learn a basic construction.

Right triangles & trigonometry

Special Right Triangles: We will go over special right triangles and special properties of general triangles. We will also cover Pythagorean Theorem.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry: We will go over basic trigonometry and applications. We will be doing practice problems throughout the lesson. We will conclude the series with this lesson.
