About

At a college level, we will introduce you to the study of motion. Then, we will revisit the concepts you worked with in kinematics to explore force, which is the interaction of an object with another object.

Topics will include:
-Scalars and Vectors in One Dimension
-Displacement, Velocity, and Acceleration
-Representing motion
-Reference frames and relative motion
-Systems
-Forces and free-body diagrams
-Gravitational force

You are expected to have completed high school courses in Algebra II and Physics.

We will have several practice problems and activities to really understand these concepts.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You are free to attend/skip whichever sessions you want.

About the Tutor

I am a rising 11th grader. I have a passion for computer science, astronomy, and history. I am joining Schoolhouse to be able to share some of my knoweldge with others who need it the most, while at the same time trying to get help in areas I need help in as well. Science education in the U.S. is really dumbed down and slow, so I taught myself some advanced topics for an 11th grader thanks to how accessible all this information is nowadays, especially Khan Academy! I speak English fluently; read and speak Spanish really well, although I can't speak it too fast because I start stuttering; and am learning French (A2)

Session 3

Kinematics and introduction to dynamics

In this session, we will go over what systems are and how to treat them in physics problems. Before this session, you should be familiar with several types of forces, including tension, friction force, gravitational force, and normal force. You should also be familar with when and how to apply Newton's second law and Newton's second law. Remember to bring your table of information!
