About
Hello learners! In this series, we will go over the tips and strategies that I found useful and which helped me secure an overall band of 8.5 in my IELTS test. We will then try to apply these strategies by doing practice questions.
There will be approximately 2 sessions every week. One will focus on strategies and their application, and the other will be targeted practice.
I will be adding sessions to this series based on what topics learners need more assistance in (for example, Writing).
Be prepared to have lots of fun experimenting with different strategies to see what works best for you. Hope to see you there!

IELTS Academic Reading - Practice Session
Hello learners! In this session, we will be doing 1-2 passages from the Cambridge IELTS book. More focus will be given to questions like Matching Headings, Matching Paragraph Information, Yes/No/Not Given etc. We will try to apply the strategies of of skimming, marking keywords, and giving titles to paragraphs. Hope to see you there!

IELTS Listening - Strategies and Practice
Hello learners! In this session, we will be quickly going over the format of the IELTS test and the types of questions seen in the Listening section. After this, we'll look at some strategies that I found useful and which helped me secure an 8.5 in Listening. We will then try to apply these strategies by doing some practice questions.
One listening practice test (with audios) will be provided at the end of this session. I will send the answers through chat once you're done with the test.
Note that the IELTS Listening test is the same for both General Training and Academic test-takers.

IELTS Academic Writing Task 1 - Strategies and Practice
Hello learners! In this session, we will go over the types of questions seen in Writing Task 1. After this, we'll look at some strategies that I found useful and which helped me secure a 7.5 in Writing. We will then try to apply these strategies by doing some practice questions.
One Writing Task 1 question will be provided at the end of this session. I will send you a sample answer through chat once you're done and we can discuss your answers in the next session.

Hello learners! In this session, we will start by doing a practice speaking test in which I will be acting as an examiner and you'll be answering questions. After this, we will solve 1 reading passage from the Cambridge IELTS book.
One reading practice test will be provided at the end of this session. I will send the answers through chat once you're done with the test.

IELTS Academic Speaking - Strategies and Practice
Hello learners! In this session, we will be quickly going over the format of the IELTS test and the types of questions asked in the Speaking section. After this, we'll look at some strategies that I found useful and which helped me secure an 9.0 in Speaking. We'll then try to imitate an IELTS Speaking test where I'll be acting as an examiner and you'll be answering questions.
