About

Are you taking AP Calc AB next year? Then this series is the best way to get a headstart over the summer.

In this week-long crash course, I will help you master Unit 3: Implicit, Composite, and Advanced Derivatives and apply it to REAL AP EXAM PROBLEMS to ace your class and get a 5 on the AP exam.

Learn easy tricks and develop proficiency while gaining confidence in your first experience in Calculus.

Looking forward to working with you!

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss a session over the week. We will be covering a lot each day and missing a session will put you pretty behind the rest of the group. I will withdraw you if you have an unexcused absence. If you really cannot make it use the "excused absence" feature so that the absence is recorded.

Session 1

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Today we will do a quick orientation to cover the entire week. Then we will review prerequisite derivative rules (ie. power rule, product rule, trig, etc.) This is important to establish a good foundation for the rest of the unit

Session 2

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Today we will cover the most fundamental part of this chapter: The chain rule
19
Jun

Session 3

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Today we will cover differentiating logarithms and exponentials and adding that to our chain rule and other derivative problems
20
Jun

Session 4

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Today we will cover another critical concept for the AP exam found in this unit: Implicit differentiation
21
Jun

Session 5

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Today we will review inverse functions(a precalc and algebra 2 concept), and look at derivatives of inverse functions
22

Session 6

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Today we will cover double derivatives and other tricky derivative situations

Session 7

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Last day of our series! We will take the final test for this unit and go over some real ap exam problems to apply what we learnt over the week.
