About
This is a 24-week course that is directly aligned with Khan Academy. We will complete the entire Pre-Algebra curriculum and touch base on any homework questions. We will also participate in fun math games and various check-in quizzes. Students can expect to take detailed notes of the lectures and complete the assigned topics on the Khan Academy website. There will also be a few assigned homework questions! This is an amazing opportunity for career-oriented students to meet with peers with similar interests and work with their tutor to get personalized help. We will have various study sessions, Q&A sessions, and homework help sessions.
✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY
Your attendance depends on your personal goals with the course! If you want to make the most of this opportunity, I would recommend making it to as many sessions as you can. However, if you cannot make it to a session, it is mandatory to let the tutor know before the said session.

Orientation
Get to know each other, introductions, background on Pre-Algebra, a brief discussion about topics you should be familiar with prior to entering this course, how this course will be run/a a breakdown of the course.
Students will engage through zoom chat to answer some icebreaker questions as well as share their goals/challenges with Pre-Algebra or math in general!

Session 2
Factors and multiples
Students will learn about factors and multiples, prime and composite numbers, and prime factorization. Students will take notes during the lecture and will receive 5 problem homework that will be due in the next session. Additionally, we will go through practice problems during class to solidify our understanding. We will wrap the session up with a quick Quizziz to test your knowledge!

Patterns
We will start the session with a brief review of factors and multiples and a review of the homework. Students will then learn about number patterns and expressions. Students will take notes on the lecture. We will walk through class examples!
