AP English Language and Composition Essay Breakdown

2nd session

Each session will cover an essay on the AP Lang exam: how to plan, write, and time yourself. This series gives a session PER essay, because each essay counts—devote time into learning them now, and you'll excel later! (Stick around for the additional MCQ session, as well!)

Thorough strategies will be given. No prior knowledge needed, nor any special materials. (It does help, however, if you are familiar with annotating prompts/texts).

AP LANG ESSAY OVERVIEW

3rd session

AP Lang can feel very daunting, as the exam at the end of the year entails three different essays to be written: argumentative, synthesis, and literary analysis. These sessions will help you to get more comfortable either before you go into the class, OR just to improve your essay writing skills. We will go over already written essays and grade them to see what successful and unsuccessful essays look like, we will write successful essays together, and you will also write them on your own. Let's start our AP (or not) writing journey together!

Short Stories, Stronger Writing

7th session

Led by a fellow high school student, this 10-week course meets every Saturday from 1:00–2:30 PM EST. We’ll use fun and surprising short stories (think: dramatic choices, twist endings, and a bit of mystery) to boost your reading and writing skills. Each session includes reading time, group discussion, writing practice, and a chance to peer review and grow your voice as a writer—all in a chill, supportive space with games and good vibes.
