Thu May 16, 6:30 PM
I used to work on a space telescope called TESS that looked for exoplanets (planets around other stars). Come ask any questions you want about astronomy and I'll try to do my best to answer them!
I'm a little flexible on time -- could move the time back an hour or two

Hey there! I'm one of the co-founders of Schoolhouse, and I was also homeschooled through the end of high school. In this session, I'll kick off by sharing a little bit about my transition to college as a homeschooler, and everyone in the group will also share their own experiences and questions about transitioning out of homeschool.
Note: This session is designed for people who are homeschooled, or who have some experience homeschooling. If you are not homeschooled but you'd like to learn about it, please feel free to DM me and I can try to run more sessions about this in the future!

You can vent about your problems and discuss stress in this session without judgment with the hosts being Me and Sneha. We can not talk about things when venting other than stress and school. We will also be teaching about mental health disorders like depression, anxiety, overthinking, etc.
RULES:
Judgement about other learner's issues is strictly prohibited. This is a safe space for people to talk about problems they are having and it is everyone's job to help create that judgement-free environment.
No private/personal information should be shared [email, social media handles, school names, names of people in your personal life, etc.] If any personal information is shared, you will be reported.
No advice should be given to other learners about their issues. Should any advice be given, it must be generic and not specific to the situation the learner is facing.

Guidelines
What topics is this Subworld for?
Anything that doesn't fit into the other Subworlds! Foreign languages, community sessions, chess, number theory, music, etc.! The only requirement is that the participants have to be learning something.
Examples of what’s allowed:
- Spanish vocabulary Kahoot game night
- Crash course on number theory
- AP Psychology 101
Examples of what’s not allowed:
- D&D game night (*belongs in the Tutors Subworld)
- Intro to quantum physics (*belongs in the Physics Subworld)
- Programming in C# (*belongs in the Computer Science Subworld)
- AP Gov Debates (*belongs to the History Subworld)
Do advanced topics belong here?
If there isn’t a Subworld that they could fall under, then yes! Since there isn’t a Subworld for advanced math (yet!), a session on something like number theory would belong here, but because we have a Physics Subworld, a session on quantum physics would go there.
Will I get volunteer hours for hosting sessions?
Due to the broad nature of the Subworld, Schoolhouse will not be awarding volunteer hours for the sessions hosted in Enrichment for now. (But this is a highly requested feature, so it might be allowed soon!)
Just a reminder: read our Content Policy for what is allowed on Schoolhouse in general before scheduling a session!
-------------------------------------------
Here's a quick reminder on the newly created session guidelines after the creation of the new Subworlds:
- If it's academic-based in nature (and focuses on history), that session can go in the History subworld.
- If it focuses on reading/writing that session can go in the Reading/Writing subworld.
- If it's non-academic based in nature (and can focus on anything), that session can go in Enrichment.
-------------------------------------------
Let's remember to:
- Be friendly and kind to each other! 🙃
- Be positive and empower other learners! ✨
- Have fun! 🎉
