Math for the September 2025 SAT®

Mondays 9:15 PM, Fridays 9:15 PM

Hey there! I’m Rakshaan, future senior, certified math whiz (770 on the SAT Math section 💥), and your go-to guide for SAT success. This will be my second bootcamp so I have a bit of experience up my sleeve! Whether you're aiming to boost your score or just starting your prep journey, I’ve got the tips, tricks, and strategies to help you crush the Math section. So don’t be shy and swing by, ask questions, and let’s turn that test anxiety into test confidence.I promise I don’t bite… unless the question is really tough. 😄 The rest is schoolhouse jargon This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Math. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

You created a very comfortable and relaxed environment from the get-go. Your casual tone, as seen in your friendly greetings, helped put Natalie at ease. You consistently praised her efforts, such as when she correctly identified a detail in a reading passage, and validated her experience with a difficult test prep book. This all works together to make Natalie feel comfortable and supported.

The tutor creates a positive atmosphere by being understanding of those who exhibit signs of struggle. For example, when Paul O says "Oh yeah, unfortunately I don't have a laptop. So I only have my desktop or my phone", the tutor responds with understanding and empathy, saying "Don't worry... that's all good" with a smile and welcoming body language. The tutor also shares advice that may be helpful to get the learner's camera working, suggesting pairing their phone and laptop ("Don't worry. What normally what I do for cameras, I just pair my phone-laptop. It kind of works out for me."). The tutor troubleshoots too when Paul says he can't take the assessment because "it's like all gray and stuff"; he tells Paul to try some things such as reloading and that ends up working. Also, Paul says at 01:01:39, "I'm I'm European, so I don't even know, you know, like this kind of question. I was just lost." and the tutor shows understanding and guides the learner through without making them feel bad about themselves, telling the learner how to activate the annotate tool ("It should be in the bottom left of your screen. You want to click on it.").

You showed a strong understanding of SAT math and reading content, even for complex problems from a third-party test prep book. You were able to work through a challenging parabola question using vertex form and the discriminant, and a surface area problem with multiple variables, showing confidence in your knowledge. You also correctly identified the core issue in a reading question about a historical claim.

The tutor connects with learners by sharing his experiences and hobbies together with his learners. For example, the tutor and Paul connect over their love of lifting. The tutor also shares that they are in this journey together with their learners, saying "Well, a little odd thing I'm actually taking sat again with you guys...So I'm gonna take it again with you guys in August. So hopefully, teaching you guys also gonna help my score a little bit, too. So together, we're all gonna get up to that 1,500 range for August SAT." This creates a collaborative and non-judgemental learning environment, as the tutor humanizes himself and says he has a lot to learn as well.
