Thanks for all your help! I hope it will come in handy during the exam.

Learner · 3 mo. ago

The explanations Kanav gave were very in-depth and detailed. I learned a significant amount of concepts and techniques with his explanations today.

Learner · 4 mo. ago

Thank you for the opportunity to test my skills. Now I know where I am at and where I've got to go.

Learner · 4 mo. ago

Thank you

Learner · 4 mo. ago

This was a very eventful and challenging session for me, so thanks for assisting me learn through it.

Learner · 4 mo. ago

Hey Kanav, this onboarding session was great! I really liked how you explained everything and it was evident that you know your stuff. Keep it up!

Learner · 4 mo. ago

Thank you for the session. You did a good job of explaining everything in a way I could understand.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

I really like your session.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for the session ! I love how interactive it was!

I love how you had Naveera lead the start of the session and you followed her through her explanations to catch any errors. You also gave her some support and vocal encouragement to show that she was on the right track which made her feel more confident in herself. One thing I would suggest though as a tutor is to follow along to the point where the learner cannot go further and then dissect why that part is confusing for them. You kind of interrupted her and took over at a certain point, I'm not sure if that was where she got confused or not but it seemed like she knew that part you solved for her. Next time try to let the learner sove till they can't go any further. I know as a learner myself, I like to do my things so I can push my boundaries until I get stuck. At the end of the video though, we get to see that it is more of a calculator issue rather than a math one, but you did an amazing job checking to see if she understood the math you went through. Also by letting her start off the session, you got to see where she was at on the question and you used that to continue the session, great job on that.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

There wasn't any evidence because the learner just seemed to be having issues with their calculator rather than the math itself. But, I think they made progress when you further clarified to the learner that using both answers depends mostly on the context of the question. They seemed to gain more insight into the topic of quadratic based on the explanation you provided to them.

good

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thanks for the session!

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for answering my question so quickly and starting a Zoom call. During the Zoom call, you answered all my questions, and I understood. I really appreciate it!

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thanks a lot for the help, I really appreciate it.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Since this is the introduction session ratings are 'N/A' for the first two standards. You had quite an interactive session and engaged the learners by walking through the code and letting them answer questions. You showed them a sample code and asked them to identify errors, you asked them to identify variable types for real-world examples which is a good way to make them understand, this way you also confirmed their progress.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

You were friendly and started the session with ice-breaker questions. You addressed the learners by their names and encouraged and appreciated them for attempting to answer questions. This created a comfortable environment and your positive tone strengthened their confidence.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for the great session

Learner · 5 mo. ago

They explained everything very neatly and it was fun to learn with them.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you so much for the last-minute help! I enjoyed the lesson and you taught it well.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Checking prior knowledge and progress were NA to be because you were doing practice problems. As for the practice problems, the learner has enough of an understanding to get started on most problems, and you adapted to their needs by answering their questions and confirming their understanding. For example, with the hovercraft problem, the learner did not know whether or not to graph the question, and you skillfully responded with "not necessarily" and gave the conceptual understanding relevant to a more optimal solution. Through the continuous question-and-answer dialogue, you also keep the learner continuously engaged.

Tutor · 6 mo. ago

You consistently kept a lighthearted and positive learning environment for the students. This was amazing and heartwarming to observe! The back-and-forth dialogue was perfect and allowed your student to feel confident in proposing solutions -- in effect building problem-solving skills.

Tutor · 6 mo. ago

Pretty good

Learner · 6 mo. ago

Always room for improvement, and in your case, maybe conducting a few practice problems to close out your session would be the cherry on top. For everything else however, you demonstrated thorough skill with adapting to the learner and checking their prior knowledge through practice problems at the beginning, so great job!

Tutor · 6 mo. ago

Though the learners made mistakes throughout, Kanav did a superb job of making them feel comfortable in their mistakes, and rather than giving out answers, he helped them work out their mistakes and get to the right answer. However, if they were unable to get the answer, the tutor then takes the reins and shows them how it's done! Great job man :)

Tutor · 6 mo. ago

Thanks for the Zoom Help, I really appreciate the help you gave me with the Quadratic Functions & Equations, I finally understand the concepts.

Thanks for providing us with some guidance on our areas of difficulty.

Learner · 4 mo. ago

Great session, man. Keep it up

Learner · 5 mo. ago

I thank you for hosting this session. It gave me quite a bit more confidence in hosting my first boot camp session, confidence that merely reading the slides could not give. However, I do have some feedback for future onboarding session attendees. [1] I think you should rely more on cold calling. It felt like many attendees were hesitant to answer, with me, the one who somehow managed to read the onboarding beforehand, often the one to answer first. In fact, I sometimes felt like I had to restrain myself from answering just to prompt others to do so. I imagine you will encounter future attendees who've somehow ended up reading the onboarding slides beforehand. [2] It looked like you ran into some technical problems, like with YouTube videos suddenly cutting out. I do want to know if you think that was an inevitable problem, or if it can be solved. [3] The session extended well beyond 6:30 PM. To me, it seemed like it was because you were sometimes stumbling.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for addressing common concerns!

Learner · 5 mo. ago

I need to draw this game but oh no White plays f3,g4 and I have a checkmate but I play d4 and white plays Nc3 and I sacrifice the bishop

Learner · 5 mo. ago

You seemed to know your stuff based on the quadratic formula which you correctly used in a way easy enough to follow, but since the learner already knew most of what you did and just needed help with their calculator, I am not able to deeply assess your understanding of the material. Although, on the surface level your explanation showed that you have a good knowledge of what you are teaching.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

The learner seemed really comfortable with you based on the welcoming vibe you had. You did a good job I'm[proving their confidence level by allowing them to start off the question while you sat back and watched carefully, You also continued to encourage the learner with your vocal expressions of confirmation with each step they took. This helped the learner feel proud about the work they were doing and that is a huge confidence boost, so good job on that. The only thing I would say which I already said above is that you should try not to cut the learner off as it's their understanding of the subject that should matter most.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

Thanks!

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for this session! I really appreciated your suggestions for improvements in my code :)

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for the session. I love how interactive it was.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Hi Kanav. Good job on your review session on AP Computer Science A. You were well-prepared for the session and provided good explanations with great visuals. I liked your pace and how you encouraged the learners to identify the syntax errors in each line of code, that is a great way to engage them. Your slides were clear and precise. I liked your practical examples for defining variables.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

yes, learners were able to answer several questions, for example, Jeba was able to identify the correct data type when two numbers with different data types were used in computation.

Tutor · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for the session. It was fun and educational.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for this session and taking your time to explain questions!

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you for tutoring. It was a great session.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

ai liked how they made sure everyone was participating

Learner · 5 mo. ago

I like how the lesson was slow paced and each definition was explained thoroughly.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

The learner clearly progressed in their understanding of the structure and information available in the quadratic form, as well as the skills relevant to quadratic equations, such as completing the square.

Tutor · 6 mo. ago

This was an amazing session and you did a great job! Specifically, I thought that your explanation of completing the square was detailed and showed a great understanding since you situationally applied it skillfully. You also showed a great understanding of the general quadratic form -- allowing for the finding of mins and max's in problems.

Tutor · 6 mo. ago

Thank you so much! You guys taught the topics really well and I was able to understand it easily too. You guys are patient when waiting for us to finish our work and you made the session interactive. Thank you!

Learner · 6 mo. ago

The tutor worked well with the learner by walking them through their material in order to gauge their understanding of the concepts. Usage of annotation feature on Zoom came into clutch with visualizing the functions and annotating to guide learner's attention.

Tutor · 6 mo. ago

Yes, the learner came out confident in their skill set.

Tutor · 6 mo. ago

I liked how they were inclusive of everyone and were very patient when people were answering.
