SHW Reading Contest

This is a fun, friendly series with competition. Many of us here at SHW love to read, so we put book lovers in a close battle to see who can read the most books! The contest takes place over a three-month period in which you will set goals for your reading, explore new books, and meet new authors, all while facing a fun competition against other learners, tutors, and friends here at SHW. In addition to the competition, we will have sessions covering the lives of different authors, analyzing their writing styles, and learning more about them. Each session is also seen to get more book recommendations and check in on your progress.

This series is created because we want to help as many students as we can. We enjoyed tutoring ourselves, and have experienced the hardships of focusing. Prior knowledge is not required for this session, but be sure to bring your homework, or tasks to let us help! 

This series is also based on the Flowtime Study Method, researched to be even effective than the Pomodoro Method, which allows your brain to have a longer rest than the Pomodoro method, storing more energy to focus and flow!

SHW Baking Contest (Sponsored by King Arthur Baking Co.)

Hello Bakers! Welcome! 
Do you like baking?
Have you ever wanted to share a recipe you invented?
Do you want more people to try out your recipes? 
If you answered yes to any of the questions above, here's your chance. 
This is a Baking Contest right here at Schoolhouse, where you will get three days to come up with an original recipe (But you can get inspiration online!) bake it, give it a name, and take a picture and a video (of you explaining your desserts, and a sneak-peek of you baking it) of your dessert that you will then submit for the competition. There are no requirements to participate, just a love for baking. Six judges will look at all the submissions and decide which one is the best recipe! The rubric that judges will be using for the competition will be shared shortly after the orientation session, where more information will be given. 
🤩The winners will receive King Arthur Baking Company gift cards, more info on that in the orientation session.
