You may be wondering why these are important when your goal at the moment is just to apply for college. Realize this: going to college is just one big step towards career prep. This will not be the last time you apply for things and, sadly, you will still be applying for things even in college and far beyond. These skills are essential for college applications (where you can include a supplemental resume), scholarships, fellowships, research positions, higher-higher education such as graduate school or medical school, and future jobs!

The Power of Passion Projects

Applying to college can be extremely stressful. How can you make yourself stand out in a sea of students? The answer: a passion project! Through these identical sessions hosted by the College Advice Moderator Team (Percival and Cindy), you can learn what a passion project is, how to start your own, and many different examples of previous projects from top tier students. 
This is a great series for youths, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who plan on applying for college. Additionally, this is a excellent opportunity for all of you to ask any questions you may have about the college admissions process to the Mod team!

Reading & Writing Bootcamp (Sat + Wed)

Hello! I'm Cindy and I hope to get to know you all well :) I love reading, music, movies, and shiba inus. We will be working on improving skills you need for the SAT reading and writing test and alleviating a bit of stress. I will try my best to make the reading section more interesting to learn about! And for people who have done a lot of studying already, there's always new tips to learn...

This three-week tutoring series will help you prepare for the upcoming June SAT in both Reading and Writing & Language. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam.

You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT in June. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can!

Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.
