Amanda, I really like how you approached this series and particularly this session! The slideshow you prepared really pulled its weight; it kept everyone organized and on the same track, which is important considering how much content you covered in this session. I love the prompts that you chose and how you made an active attempt to catch all of the learners up if they missed the previous session. This prompt really made the learners think and come up with their own interpretation of the painting, which shows the beauty of stimulus-based writing. It is so subjective, and seeing everyone's essays proved that. Wonderful job overall!

-At the beginning of the session, you asked for feedback from your previous sessions. This is part of a series, so that's sufficient for this category. You ask new learners if they have any questions regarding what the session hopes to achieve, which is great too. -You give the learners lots of opportunities to get involved and give feedback. This is the fourth session of the series, so you ask for feedback that you can consider for this session at the beginning as well. You address a lot of the learners individually to see how they're enjoying the session. You do great at adapting the session to the learners' needs, so keep it up! -You talk directly to all of the learners and look through all of their work thoroughly. You even use one as an example to dissect with the group. You make sure that everyone is tuned in to the session and piggy-back off of the learners' ideas (such as how you interpreted the emerald dress differently). -You check the learners' progress by asking if they have any questions from time to time. You incorporate these slides at the appropriate times, after each major activity, and it definitely does help keep everyone on the same track.

You did a great job checking the learner's prior knowledge! I like that you were circling or putting check marks by objectives that you covered when you shared the "Today's plan" slide. This shows that you're trying to make the best use of your time. You did well engaging all the different learners too, especially considering that this is an office hours session, meaning your learners are in different places and it would thus be harder to tailor the session towards them. You make it so that they can work simultaneously on what's best for them. This also demonstrates that you're adapting to the learner's unique needs, since both of you try your best to attend to everyone's concerns. Your sincere attempts at doing so are appreciated! Finally, you do check their progress in their respective assignments by asking checkpoint questions. All in all, you both did great here!

You give them a clear idea of when you're going to start the actual instruction and what you will be instructing about in the session, which leads to open communication throughout the session. It's great that you introduced yourself and had the learners do the same, but it's not fully necessary if this is the fourth session that you've all been together. You also do a great job at strengthening learner confidence, affirming the learners' essays or other contributions with positive phrases like "that's smart" or "that's totally fine."

Amanda and Andrea, you are extremely well-prepared for this session and are well-versed in the English topics you covered. Since this is an office hours session, you prepared yourselves to attend to each person's needs and thus have a fluent-enough understanding of the material to do so. The slideshow that you pulled up was organized well and was created with an engaging template. On the "body paragraph" slide, you highlighted every part of the paragraph in a different color based on what the learner should pick up from it. This is a fun and engaging way of conveying to the learner how they should format their own body paragraphs and breaks away from the usual monotony of essay-writing. I also like that you introduced another form of media to test the learners' understanding, the Google form. It was well-created and serves as a great introduction to paragraph analysis. Wonderful job!

Hey Amanda-Pearl! Great job on the session! You seemed very knowledgeable on the topic of "Fahrenheit 451" and you even connected another book towards it and gave your opinion on which of them was better. This act helped the learner feel at ease with you as it felt like you two were talking more like friends and not like tutor and student. It is important to always make the learner feel like he's at home and you made that very clear for him!
