Summer Bookclub

In this bookclub we will be reading The Near Witch by V.E. Schwab and discussing as a group. Discussions will be group-led and can focus on any aspect of the book (not just themes and literary elements!). This series is perfect for both people trying to get in to reading and avid readers! Plan to read around 60 pages each week for the duration of the series. We will not have any assesments and all participation is optional, but reading each section before its corresponding session is crucial to participating in this series. Annotations/notes are recommended but not required.

Polynomial graphs

In this session we will go over how to graph polynomial functions by finding the end behavior, graphing different zeros, and finding local minimums and maximums. Background knowledge on factoring and solving polynomials is reccomended. Please come prepared with a calculator and something to write on.

Quadratic functions & equations

In this session we will review how to represent and graph quadratics (in standard and factored form), solve quadratics (using factoring, the quadratic formula, and completing the square), and write quadratic functions/ interpret word problems. Prior knowledge on parabolas and quadratic functions is recommended but we will review everything. Please come prepared with a pencil and paper and a calculator.
