Absolute Value 101

However a highly motivated younger learn should have no trouble!

Absolute Value is a very tricky topic that is extremly tedious and challenging. Due to this, it is frequently taught poorly and students lack a understanding of the topic.

This series will address that issue by explaning absolute value to the best of my abilities. We will visualise graphs of absolute value, tables involving side change and solve expressions involving absolute value.

Fundamentals of Geometry Part II

This series is a countinuation from Fundamentals of Geometry Part I, initially taught from Nov 2022 - Dec 2022: https://schoolhouse.world/series/4384.

This series will countinue on from where we left from Part 1. This includes proof-writing and other forms of geometrical expression. In addition, this series will have more rigorous practice assignments. There will be no marking for these assignments, instead constructive feedback! Hope to see you there!

Geometry - a beautiful piece of math. This course is designed to make you love it and learn the ideas that come with it (writing proofs). There are no marks, but home assignments will be provided. It should also be noted that this is PART I. Future parts will be taught after this series!

Algebra 1: Introduction (Part 1)

This is the first installation of a complete Algebra 1 course. In this installation, we'll be mainly focusing on the first 3 units (Algebra Foundations, Solving Equations and Inequalities, Working with units) in the Khan Academy Algebra 1 unit. 

Prerequisite:
- Order of Operations and Simple Arithmetic
- Simple Units conversions
- Familiar with diffrent types of numbers
The prerequisites are essentially grade 1 - 8 curriculum Math (Khan) (Excluding the Geometry and Probability)

Who this series is for: This serie is designed for thoses who just started learning Algebra 1. If your taking Alg 1 next year, this series is also nice for getting ahead early!

Hey learners! This session is to help learners solve inequations and equations with absolute value in them. With a mix of addition and subtraction in each problem, we will use a table to solve them. This session is geared towards North American grade 10 level, but anyone with a solid understanding in simple algebraic manipulation and interval theory may attend effectively.

This session is a introduction to system of equations. We will be looking at some example problems and building an intuition for solving systems. Heres what we will be covering:
1. What is a system
2. Setting up a system with given information
3. Solving systems with a graph
4. Solving systems with substitution
5. Solving systems with elimination
6. A few examples (word problems) alongside each topic

Please know some basic knowlegde about linear equations and solving them algebraically.
If we have enough people, we will be playing a Kahoot! Bring paper and pencil!

My name is Eddie and in this session, we will be talking a bit about Equations and Expressions. 

These will be the things we will be looking at:

We will be looking at what a variable is in math. Using our knowledge of variables we will then look at how to solve 1 variable equation.

We will get some intuition on why the method we use to solve one-variable equations works.
