I love attending these sessions and I always get a lot of work done. Its amazing to see how much Rashi has grown! It feels like yesterday when she was the one attending my series, but now she is hosting her own. Keep up the good work, Rashi!

Thank you for this session! You were very engaging and interactive which really helped me to learn and practice more :)

Checks learners' prior knowledge: N/A because there really is no prior knowledge to check. The session appears to be introductory, primarily geared towards showing learners how to write the alphabet in a calligraphy style. Adapted to learners' unique needs: Advanced; the tutor takes account of the learners' resources, asking about their tools and altering the method of instruction to suit different tools. Impressive for a first session! Continuously engages learners: Intermediate; while the tutor does interact with learners, she doesn't really give any opportunities for the learners to answer questions or to demonstrate their own techniques. Other than that, she does encourage the learners to practice on their own alongside her. Confirms learners' progress: Intermediate; some follow-up, but not much. It could be beneficial for the learners to ask if they are following along in order to fix any holes there may be. I also love that she asks the learners which letters they are struggling with, and showing examples of how to write them correctly.

The tutor is so open and friendly. She tells the learners that their propositions are great ideas, and is super helpful overall. She's also talkative and exuberant. I feel like I struggle with tone when hosting sessions, but hers is consistently cheerful. There are quite a few technical difficulties (which is, of course, no fault of the tutor), but she handles them gracefully. I would recommend asking a student how to pronounce his/her/their name before trying it yourself. Say something like "Am I pronouncing your name correctly?" Regardless of the response ("yes" or "no"), say something like "Okay, cool! Thanks for letting me know!"

It was super fun! Sorry I had to leave early though!!! I loved how you checked in with all of us and made sure that we understood. I also liked how you were very friendly and didn't just have like a thing where you only talk about one topic and nothing else. Thank you so much for hosting!!! :) :D

This was like- one of the best sessions ever!!!! I can't believe it's only your second session. It feels like you have been tutoring way longer. I love how you were patient and kept asking how I was doing. I also loved how you checked in with me on every letter. That was very helpful :) You deserve all of the good feedback and gratitude you will get :D. We also have a lot in common! And thank you for hosting this session and telling me where to find the art sessions because I've been looking for them since I joined (2022). I also loved how you hosted a make-up session because I couldn't join. You took the time to help me with each letter and strokes and the pressure you apply. Sorry you had to host another session because I couldn't join the other one. Thank you so much for your consideration and kindness. :) Thank you so so so so so so so so so much!!! :) :D -Hanna

The visuals are beautiful, and the tutor is clearly very talented. She exhibits obvious experience with this topic, as well as discernible passion (she even made a poster!). Maybe this isn't very applicable since 1.) the topic isn't academic, and 2.) this is the tutor's first session, but I think it would be helpful if the tutor gave more thorough explanations. Why do these types of markers work? What materials don't work, and why? More information would be great, too. The presentation could greatly benefit from a few slides about the history and purposes of calligraphy. I would also recommend reading off the slides less, using them more as bullet points than a script (this is something I struggle with myself, and I've hosted quite a few sessions now).

Rashi put a lot of work into the session and it was really fun! She is a great tutor and I look forward to joining more of her sessions!
