Helped me a lot to understand key concepts in Ap World, thank you.

Helped me sooo much! I took a lot of notes and I think I will remember this information pretty well.

The tutor created a comfortable and engaging learning space. Their tone was welcoming, and they encouraged students throughout the session, helping them build confidence. By relating content from earlier units to future developments, the tutor helped students feel more prepared for what's ahead and better understand historical trends.

Thank you for this session. I really enjoyed how interactive it was. You made it comfortable for me to ask questions which I struggled to do in class. By the way, Rhea and I have the same history teacher.

The explaining was great! you were able to tone it down and explain it better than my teacher. and you were extremely patient.

Yes, there is clear evidence that Giorgio made progress during this session. He correctly identified domains and ranges, calculated points on exponential graphs, and modeled equations for word problems. His active participation in solving problems and asking clarifying questions indicates that he gained confidence in applying these concepts.

Tutor · 4 mo. ago

Definitely—the learner was able to confidently complete the questions on the worksheet themselves by the end of the session.

Yes, it's clear that the learner is comfortable and confident with working through the practice problems they went over together by the end of the session.

The tutor is very kind towards the learner, commends him for his knowledge and math ability where he is able to solve the math correctly, and is empathetic when the learner makes mistakes. There is a very friendly relationship between the tutor and learner, and they both demonstrate a sense of humor as well. The tutor is also very respectful to the learner, for example, when the learner is struggling to find the math sheet but the tutor remains patient and kindly gives advice for how to import images.

Very well explained and I was able to understand information I didn't before.

The tutor responded well to student questions and adjusted their explanations when confusion came up. There’s room to grow by pausing more often to check for understanding or using short review questions to assess if students are following key ideas before moving on.

The tutor did a great job involving learners by asking guiding questions and encouraging participation in discussions. They made space for students to share ideas and perspectives, and asked follow-up questions to prompt deeper thinking. This helped ensure learners weren’t just listening, but actively processing the content.

I really enjoyed your session because I was able to ask questions about the things I did not understand, which was extremely helpful because my history teacher makes me feel like I can’t ask questions without making me think I’m stupid. Thank you for being so helpful!

You effectively engaged Giorgio by asking questions to gauge his understanding and encouraging him to solve problems independently. For example, you prompted him to identify the domain and range of exponential functions and guided him through modeling equations from real-world scenarios. Your adaptability was evident when you clarified misconceptions about negative exponents and provided step-by-step explanations for complex calculations.

You demonstrated a strong understanding of exponential functions, including their domain, range, asymptotes, and graphing techniques. Your explanation of key concepts, such as the horizontal asymptote being determined by the constant added to the exponent and how to calculate points on the graph by substituting values for x, was clear and effective. Additionally, your guidance on creating exponential models from word problems (e.g., depreciation and growth scenarios) showcased your expertise.

You did really well on engaging with the learner and checking their understanding throughout the process and modifying your teaching style during the session, like switching to a more advisory role while watching them work through concepts they were comfortable with and asking if they would like to move on to different topics once they had a good grasp on them. One thing I would suggest is to recap the things you covered at the end of the session rather than just ending it, to make sure the learner has everything down and close out in a succinct but helpful way.

Tutor · 4 mo. ago

You did really well in connecting with your learner, maintaining a conversational and friendly attitude and gently guiding them through the problems while allowing them to take a primary role. You struck a good balance between focusing on the work but not being too intense and making sure your learner was comfortable in the environment.
