I really liked the way that you introduced certain problems and had music in the background as we did the independent practice problems. You made it feel like a very inviting space to ask questions in and participate. Grogu was also a very nice touch!

Hi Sarah! Thank you so much for regularly hosting Study Spaces, and being the go-to tutor I point learners to whenever they ask me about an online accountability system on Schoolhouse or Study Spaces. The policies were so clearly laid out, with core aspects reiterated as you cycled through the guidelines. The music is great too. But I'll admit I'm someone who thrives best while studying in silence. This is ironically enough for someone who's also a musician, who also studies music! But still, I'm glad I attended this session. Because it gave me clarity on what sorts of Study Spaces you host. I can now confidently say that your Study Spaces are one of the best practice grounds for school students to apply all the science-backed study tips they get from Karinna's and my sessions on self-directed learning. Looking forward to more productive discussions on how best we can make Study Spaces a core part of our amazing one site Schoolhouse.

Hi Sarah! I just audited your study space session and I really appreciate the fact that you requested the learner who had come for help in solving an Algebra 2 problem to firstly check out live help, but still asked what the problem was about and since you were not certified in Algebra 2, told them you would unfortunately not be able to help. You were welcoming all the learners who joined the study space, and even asked them if the music was alright for them, which built a very welcoming and friendly environment for the learners. All in all, an amazing study space session! Thank you for hosting study spaces and feel free to reach out to me on slack if you have any questions or would like to discuss anything further. Wonderful session for language learning! Sarah did an amazing job. Sarah asked about feedback all the time and gave learners support as much as possible. I think the pace was really good - fast and clear with the lecture and slides, but also give us enough time to write down notes and recap as well.

Thank you for hosting this event, Sam! Appreciate listening to your story even if I joined midway, and it's remarkable how you invite everyone to share their stories and join the discussion too! This session truly reminded me of ASU's To Be Welcoming course that I'll soon be recommending to the faculty in a high school I'm working with. I can see you invested a lot of time and effort into this event. Hats off for hosting it so well! And speaking of hats, nice makeup and headgear, and background setup, not to mention the slides! (You'll know from speaking with tutors I've cotutored with that I'm particularly hard to please on slides. I'm someone who's always focused on making ideas land rather than on slides. But I'm happy to report that the slides really formed an essential ingredient to the event, particularly in laying out the rules.) And speaking of rules, I'm always blown away by how articulately you state session policies—not just in this session or your French tutorials but in Study Spaces, makeup, and all sessions you host. Keep going, keep growing, as they say on Khan Academy! :)

I finished my entire calculus packet during the session. It was so exciting because I thought it would take me like 1.5 hours but I finished in 40 minutes. I think joining these zooms helps a lot, so thanks!

Hey Sarah I am auditing your study spaces session. It seems there was not a lot of foot traffic but thank you for hosting the session. It is always great to see people hosting spaces for learners to come should they want. Also I like how you tried to mix it up by having a new music playlist in the back and providing the playlist should they want it. Overall great session keep it up.
