The tutor did a good job of asking the learner how to pronounce her name. Pronouncing a learner's name correctly can help build a comfortable learning environment. The learner is clearly open to making mistakes and answering/asking questions. The tutor does a good job of helping the learner feel comfortable.

The tutor asked the learner what level of biology they took and then explains why they asked said question. This helped understand the learner's prior knowledge. The tutor also does a good job of then breaking down meiosis into the framework of what it is. The learner had very little knowledge on the subject but the tutor was able to get to the basis of the topic to explain. The tutor asks the learner questions very often throughout the session. This helps keep the learner engaged and ensures that the learner is able to understand the process.
