Systems of Equations Lesson + Practice Gimkit

This two-part series will teach you the basic skills you need to solve systems of equations--and put them into practice! The first session will be a lesson, teaching you the strategies needed to solve systems of linear equations. We'll also go through some example problems to practice what we've learned. The second session, on the other hand, will be pure practice. You and your fellow learners will be given a timed quiz using Gimkit, and you'll solve dozens of systems of equations using what you've learned. Not only is this a source of fun and friendly competition, it's also an amazing way to retain what was taught in the previous lesson. You won't need an account to access Gimkit--all you need in terms of materials is a pencil and some paper. Additionally, prior knowledge of how to solve regular linear equations is a must.

DSAT Reading and Writing: Expression of Ideas

This session will cover the two skills found within the Expression of Ideas Domain: Rhetorical Synthesis and Transitions. After a brief instructional lesson, we'll go through several practice problems for both of these skills,  slowly progressing from the easiest problems to the hardest problems on the test! Prior familiarity with the SAT as a whole (structure, timing, etc.) is encouraged, but no particular score or level of experience with the specific topic is required. Just come prepared with your brains (and, if you'd like, a pencil and paper to jot down some notes!)

Right triangles & trigonometry

In this session, we're going to be learning how to solve right triangles (find missing sides/angles) with trigonometry (SOHCAHTOA)! Prior knowledge of the Pythagorean Theorem is required. Due to the nature of the topic covered, having a calculator on hand is strongly recommended (if you don't have a calculator, I can provide a link to an online calculator that should suffice). In addition, having a place to take notes is highly recommended.
