I've taken the SAT four times, improving my total score by 230 points (from a 1300 to a 1530) through self-studying. The math section was always my biggest struggle, and I worried I'd never get better at it. However, just by practicing and being willing to work on my mistakes, I was able to raise my score from a 590 to a 760! So if you think that you'll never do as well as you want to on the SAT just because you're not a "math person," then I'm here to tell you (as living proof!!) that that's not true.
