Percentiles, z-scores, and probability

We'll go over percentiles and z-scores in quantitative data, probability, and probability distribution. Although this session is in preparation for Jalynn's mock AP Stats exam, everyone is welcome.

Exploring one-variable quantitative data: Percentiles, z-scores, and the normal distribution

We will continue to discuss when we use normal distributions and how we use them. If we finish up early, we will start the topic of study design.

SUMMIT — This session is intended for Summit students; however, anyone may join. In this session, we will compare observations using their z-scores. We will also compare data distributions by looking at various parameters such as their mean and standard deviation. Lastly, we will practice transforming distributions by multiplying/dividing and adding/subtracting.

Comparing and Transforming Univariate Data - Measure position using z-scores - Compare distributions of univariate data - Describe the effects of transforming a dataset Contrary to some of my other sessions, we will mostly be reviewing and walking through problem sets on this topic, with no slides prepared. You will need some knowledge about univariate data to participate. If you're interested in a more informational session, feel free to leave a message in the Discussion Forum below or stay tuned for some of my other AP Stats-related sessions! You can also check out some of the sessions by other tutors :D

In this session, we will go through and try to understand the Khan Academy Unit: Modeling data distributions. This session will focus on "Normal distributions and the empirical rule" and "Normal distribution calculations" section of the unit. Please bring something to write with and to write on as we will be working through the practice problems. This will be an interactive session.
