Session Details

About

Hi, in this session we'll be running through a comprehensive beginner introduction to the UCAT / BMAT! (The UCAT / BMAT is a university aptitude admissions test for aspiring medical/dental students in the U.K, New Zealand and Australia. It is compulsory for entry. 6 universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, do BMAT instead for entry into undergraduate medicine. More detail will be provided in the session.) 🤔What we will cover: Intro to UCAT - what actually is the UCAT + info on text structure ---------------------- Sections - 5 main sections of the test are listed below. We'll go over exam technique, a practice Q for an idea and the correct answer: Verbal reasoning Abstract reasoning Quantitative Reasoning Decision making Situational Judgment ---------------------- Intro to BMAT - what actually is the BMAT + info on text structure + what unis actually require the BMAT ---------------------- Tips - revision technique, where to book, unis that prioritise UCAT and anything else 🧒Who is this session intended for? Age 17 - 18 (Year 12 - very early 13 students), mainly within the U.K. or for those planning to attend medical/dental school in the U.K., but also aspiring med/dentistry students from Australia and New Zealand. *You may join if you are outside of this age bracket but I highly recommend you don't, as the UCAT is something to cram for and learning about it too early (e.g. generally you should get greater info on it around the date when the booking opens for you to sit your UCAT, so roughly 10 weeks ) would probably not provide much benefit. But again, if you are still interested feel free to join! I'm excited to help, drop a message if you need anything :) *This session is at the request of one of my club members as they missed the club meeting on this topic, so instead of doing it privately I thought I could host a session in case it was of any interest to anyone else.
