In this course, we will use chrome's "Inspect" functionality in its developer tools to understand the basic building blocks of a website and, at the end, build your own portfolio website using HTML, CSS, and Javascript!

However, if you have no web development experience and want to build a portfolio at the end, I would recommend tuning in to every session that you can! If you are going to miss a session, I would really appreciate it if you could give me a notice by messaging me! This is just a friendly intro session! I want to spend this time introducing the course and gauging interest in certain topics. I will talk about what HTML, CSS, and Javascript are, and demonstrate how to use the "Inspect" tool which inspired this course! We will also get our programming environments set up for the rest of the course.

This lesson will be our intro to foundational HTML tags, including <html>, <head>, <title>, <body>, <p>, and others not covered in the last session. We will go over appropriate uses of headers and footers and explore how to implement them!

In this session, we will talk about the <div> tag and explore how we can use CSS to style our webpages, including changing font size and color, changing background color, and other styling effects!

Let's tie it all together! In this session we will discuss how HTML, CSS, and Javascript all work together to build complex websites, and look at some examples on the internet using inspect.

This final session will be our portfolio-building workshop! We will look at some example portfolios and discuss how the topics we have learned can be applied to creating your own personal portfolio website. I will also demonstrate how to release your website using GitHub pages so that other people can see it!
