Hi! I'm a high school student in Maharashtra, India. I like exploring different areas of math (Algebraic Number Theory and Algebraic Geometry) and cycling in my free time! I'm really excited to learn with others here at Schoolhouse!

SESSION 1

Differentiation: definition and basic derivative rules

Differentiation: definition and basic derivative rules

Sat 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM UTCSep 27, 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM UTC

We will introduce the derivative using limits, emphasizing visual intuition. We will go over the sum rule and power rule, and thus learn how to differentiate polynomials. We will then progress onto the product, quotient and chain rule, time permitting.

SESSION 2

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

Sun 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM UTCSep 28, 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM UTC

We will review the previous session, giving many practice problems. Then, we will go over implicit and parametric differentiation, as well as learning how to differentiate inverse functions.

Lastly, we will understand the applications of the derivative, including finding the maxima/minima of the function (first derivative test) as well as its nature (second derivative test), and related rates.
