About

The SAT is one of the biggest exams in the US, and is widely considered to be the single most important test for college admissions. The questions are difficult and the pressure is immense. And oftentimes, one gets so immersed in the actual process of studying, studying, and studying that it jams them up in a way that is more subtle than any SAT question but has a bigger effect than even the hardest SAT question: nerves. The SAT feels like a massive roadblock that only you are conquering.
And trust me when I say that I spent 4 months studying for the August SAT and barely finished anything in time simply because there were so many things I did wrong outside of the actual questions that took a massive toll on me.
Which is why I’m here to host a session with tips that can help with controlling your nerves, both before, during, and after the test. Whether you join this session or not, remember, YOU’RE NOT ALONE!

Hello, fellow SHWmates! (I made up that term lol) I am a high school senior from PA. While I live in the US, my parents are both Chinese. I have been tutoring for almost 3 years by now, and I primarily tutor SAT English (mainly because I have my own SAT to improve) and I can teach people most math subjects. I enjoy music a lot in general, and I play in Marching Band andJazz Band (at the district level). I also sing in my school’s Chamber Choir. I also play games a whole lot such as MLBB, HOK, KOF i2012, and Geometry Dash. (Message me on SHW or SHWSlack if you want my in game tags so we can challenge each other!) I’m admittedly not the most academic person - I have a 3.7 W on a 4.0 scale (that’s carried by my AP classes) and I have a 1510 SAT from self-study. I also have trouble speaking sometimes since I am a really nervous person and can’t always make up phrases on the fly. Regardless, I am a very determined and explorative person, and I have only the best in mind for everyone I tutor! My goal after HS is to go to Carnegie Mellon University or Lehigh University to ultimately get a master’s in the field of data science. My mission here in Schoolhouse is to give back as much as I have received from this wonderful community, hit the Gold Level benchmark by the end of my senior year, and be the best I can be.
