✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

This is a small group course (max 5 students), so your presence really matters!

That said, I understand that life can be unpredictable.

If you can’t make a session, just let me know in advance — no problem at all.

You’re always welcome to join late or leave a bit early if needed.

I’ll share helpful recaps and resources after each session, so you won’t fall behind.

My goal is to help you feel comfortable, supported, and confident while learning. Let’s grow together at your own pace! But remember, your knowledge relies on you.

SESSION 1

Solving equations & inequalities

Solving equations & inequalities

Sat 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTCAug 2, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTC

📚 Session 1: Solving Equations & Real-Life Word Problems
Let’s kick things off by reviewing the core tools of algebra — and then jump into solving real equations!

You’ll learn:

How to simplify expressions (quick review of combining like terms & order of operations)

Step-by-step strategies to solve linear equations

How to turn real-life word problems into solvable equations

This session is perfect for building your confidence — whether you’re starting fresh or need to brush up before moving forward.

👥 We'll learn together with examples, guided practice, and space for questions.

SESSION 2

Linear equations & graphs

Linear equations & graphs

Sat 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTCAug 9, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTC

📈 Session 2: Graphing Lines & Making Sense of Slope
In this session, we’ll explore how to turn equations into pictures — and how lines on a graph tell a story.

You’ll learn:

How to read and label the coordinate plane

What slope really means (rise over run, direction, steepness)

How to graph a line using y = mx + b

How to find slope and intercept from a graph or equation

We’ll practice drawing lines, interpreting slope in real-life contexts, and solving problems that connect equations to visuals.

Even if you’ve never graphed before, no worries — we’ll go step by step!

🧠 This session helps build intuition so algebra doesn’t feel like just numbers — you’ll see it in action.

SESSION 3

Systems of equations

Systems of equations

Sat 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTCAug 16, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTC

🔗 Session 3: Cracking the Code with Systems of Equations
Ever faced a problem where two conditions must be true at the same time? That’s where systems of equations come in!

In this session, you’ll learn:

What a system of equations is and when to use it

How to solve systems using graphing, substitution, and elimination

How to tell if a system has one, none, or infinitely many solutions

How to solve real-world problems that involve two unknowns

We’ll walk through each method with clear examples and visuals, so you can choose the best strategy when solving problems.

🤝 You’ll also see how systems can model real-life decisions — like budgeting, distance, and more!

SESSION 4

Functions

Functions

Sat 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTCAug 23, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTC

🔄 Session 4: Making Sense of Functions & Sequences
What’s a function? What do sequences have to do with real life? In this session, we’ll explore how patterns, rules, and inputs all connect.

You’ll learn:

What a function is — and how it’s different from just any relation

How to use and understand function notation (like f(x))

How to evaluate functions from a table or formula

What sequences are — and how to describe their patterns

The difference between arithmetic and geometric sequences

🔢 We’ll look at real examples and simple patterns to make these abstract ideas easier to understand.

✍️By the end of the session, you’ll be able to recognize, write, and work with basic functions and sequences with confidence!

SESSION 5

Quadratic functions & equations

Quadratic functions & equations

Sat 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTCAug 30, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM UTC

🌀 Session 5: Exploring Quadratics — Your First Look at Parabolas
In this final session, we’ll explore a new kind of equation — one that curves instead of forming a straight line.

You’ll learn:

What a quadratic equation is and how it differs from linear equations

How to recognize and graph a parabola (the U-shaped curve)

The key parts of a parabola: vertex, axis of symmetry, and direction

How to factor simple quadratic expressions (intro only)

🌟 Don’t worry — this is an intro session, so we’ll keep it visual, hands-on, and light. The goal is to give you a strong starting point for more advanced quadratic work in the future!

🎓 We’ll also do a fun mini-review of everything we’ve learned so far.
